I can't wait for another blasting video. The last one was awesome. Seeing those charges detonating and hauling ass at 68 times the speed of light and at maximum warp in a straight line of explosions was amazing to watch! The massive tidal wave of shattered rock and earth coming down the hillside was mind blowing! Was so satisfying to watch.

Mmmm...Andrew just breaking and fixing stuff is ok. But its average stuff. When he WAS working for a living that was good stuff - doing all these jobs. Now with his YT income he is just playing around and it is not good content. In the end, YT will only supply an income for another couple of years before another social media takes over. The good part is the next phase - blasting for gravel. He is clearing the ground to get the sedimentary rock blasted and use it as road metal. It is cheaper buying a rock crusher and paying to get the cliff blasted and have a proper road.

I was a 10 year old boy when that bulldozer was built. Not sure if it was made in Peoria, IL, where Caterpillar had many of its factories, but if it was made in the Peoria area, I lived only 30 miles away, and some of the people in my little town worked at Cat. I'm 64 now, and love how you got that old monster running so smoothly. They sure did a good job making heavy machinery back in the day.

A suggestion about adding oil: If you pour the bottle, bucket or can with the spout up at the 12 o'clock position instead of at the bottom at 6 o'clock, air gets in sooner and easier and you will not get the glug, glug, glug. Without that going on, the oil/transmission fluid or whatever will flow in easier and faster and you are not as likely to spill it.

Most guys would run these older machines in the ground and just replace them as they went along, But Andrew takes the time to do routine and some time not so routine maintenance on all his equipment. The thousands of dollars spent on Oil, Hydro fluid, tires, brakes, filters. You name it , This guy can handle it.

He has been looking after these machines, doing this sort of heavy machine work in his chosen area of industry, for many years. Don't forget you are watching this channel because of his content. Andrew, absolutely love what you're doing. I live across from you in Dutchess County and have also bought two large pieces of property and had to blast both sites...one blast was a full half acre. When I saw your first blast video it was so cool to see that you handled the aftermath yourself. I had to pay a couple hundred grand to take care of my mess from my blast. I didn't discover you until after my second blast and am disappointed that I couldn't have had you potentially come and do my site work. I would have loved to watch you work in person. If I ever blast again, I will reach out and see if you can help. You are so much better than the excavators I used! I also can't wait for your next blast video. Rock on!

Andrew- here's a great tip about freeing up rusted nuts/bolts. Mix acetone/ATF 50/50 mix. Shake immediately before each use as the oil carries the acetone but doesn't dissolve it. This mixture has saved many a frozen nut situation. Popular Mechanics magazine shared this tip after doing extensive test comparisons. Salute from New Brunswick, Canada.

Good that you're servicing it. A lot of old machines just get run until they stop dead. There should have been a lot more trans fluid in the bevel gear case.....like 25-30 gal. Part of the problem may be that it's leaking into that left hand final drive, which is probably why it was over full. Be sure to check the bottom of the torque converter housing too. There is a drain and a magnetic screen in the bottom. There should be only a couple of gallon the the torque housing. If there's lots more it can indicate a leaking torque converter which can cause overheating.

Thanks for the video Andrew, it's always nice watching you and Samantha tackling projects as a team. I noticed around time stamp 14:30 that someone had to resort to using a cold chisel and hammer to loosen that bolt you were struggling with. The manufacturer will have included the correct torque settings to use when tightening bolts and nuts and when the person servicing the machine decides to guess, well, that means the next person doing the service (you) will be on the struggle bus and waste a lot of time. LOL, Andrew accidentally sets the cat belly pan on fire and then says" I knew that fire was a good idea". Cute but still not as fun as " It broke for no reason". Cheers from Canada.

Every time you pull start something Cody goes nuts. The sound of it, and the way you pull your arm back makes him think you're trying to get away from something attacking you. I guess he's protective of you.

If you ever want to run that thing in the cold without freezing, you can reverse the fan blades so they pull instead of push. We did that on our d8 building logging road in Pacific Northwest. Made winter days way more comfortable.

It amazes me reading the comments how many critics are on here. Didn't your parents ever teach you that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all? This is some of the best content on KZbin. If you don't like it, go watch something else. Anyway Andrew, keep on going and ignore the trolls. 14:40.. When those plugs are stuck like that-- put your heat on the case around it, not the plug itself. And also it's good to have a little water squirt bottle.. You can get close and spray that plug (or bolt, etc) but try not to wet the casing, and that cooling will cause the plug to shrink, while the heated casing will still be expanded. So if you just spray it with water and then quickly try to crank on it before the heat finds equilibrium again-- you'll have a much better chance of getting it to break loose. The KEY" is to have as much of a DIFFERENCE in temperature as you can between the casing and plug: With the casing being hot and the plug being cold. Cheers.
