Split Fire two way splitters are the same design. My cousin owns one, and has literally split thousands of cords on it trouble free. I have split about four hundred face cords myself. They are very fast, especially if you have three people working it.

It never ceases to amaze me how powerful hydraulics are, especially when you look at how they actually work, and how little effort is required on the part of the engine to exert massive force on the other end. Take for example his simple wood splitter that probably has a 5-10 hp lawn mower engine on it. It probably exerts somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 tons of force via the piston. Amazing.

Andrew- I built my skidsteer splitter almost 20years back...dont be afraid to move your machine to line up pices for "straighter cuts" I find the best results standing the slices on edge and cuttin with the grain. I also find that the time to cut the pieces into even smaller is quicker for me with the machine than doing a seperate step with the smaller splitter..... I burned with an outdoor wood boiler so I didnot make every piece as small as you would for an regular stove but I did make a lot of smaller pieces that are easier on the ole back :P I love the double acting cutter on your splitter though. I see as the video goes you are gett ing the hang of it! You will wonder why you took so long to buy one!

Hmm how can I improve this log splitter, I'll just weld on a 3-way anvil, I should have made this myself...I have all the steel in the state of NY and an old washing machine I can use. :)

There are probably longer wedges available but if you're splitting with the grain it would only take the 12 inches or so that he's already got. I mean clearly it worked with his 2-3 foot tall chunks.

It would make them weaker and heavier, not sure if that would make for a good skidsteer attachment.

Product information says a sliding 4 way wedge (4 points on each side) is included in the purchase price. Sure beats the hell out of lifting logs manually.

No not Christmas but it's good to see someone who is not scared to get his hands dirty and is willing to talk about what he is doing and takes the time to move the camera to a spot where he can show what he is doing some of the things he does is all self-taught which is the way I learnt to sort things for the prices the people were charging over the top so he buys what he needs once he has sorted out what is wrong with his machines and tells you how to and show's you fair enough he tells you when he makes a mistake and he is like 99% of us who fix our own stuff and hate the computer component for you can't get into them the more he puts on youtube the more there is to watch.

Very versatile attachment ! I was very surprised by the sheer power it has to split stumps and even more so the way it just crushed truck and car runs !!! I actually just ordered something to split wood with my Kubota'miniexcavator...it's made by Side tool,Inc... hydraulic knife/ splitter...I'll be posting a video/ review in a month or so when it arrives... I also have a Atom splitter auger bit for my Kubota'miniexcavator...works excellent, however it's very slow and won't split certain types of wood depending on the grain of the wood... I've had it since 2012/) Hurricane Sandy and it's great for breaking down huge log length logs and rounds so I can put them on my Halverson firewood processor installed on my Ford backhoe... It's really good to see Mr.Levi again 💕💞. He's a good boy and I wish him many more years of happiness ❤️❤️ with you and your family. Regards Tom Del Casale Excavating
