Hey man! Thanks for the code and saving me over $100 bucks! I copped the Primus Trail Knit FG for hiking, Geocourt 3 for work, and some insoles on my RAs. Appreciate your channel and help in finding good info on minimalist shoes.

Oh damn! Those are some nice savings. The Knit FG's a great pick, it's my favorite for all-season trail running and fast hiking. Need to try the Geo some day. Happy barefooting out there, Nate! (:

Thank you for your reviews! I was curious about which boot to get for more smart casual but everyday in fall, winter and spring? Looking at Gobi warmlined or Scott IV. I like the regular Gobi but I don’t want the all black.
@AndrewFolts4 күн бұрын
Those would both be great picks. IMO, the Gobi Warmlined is more comfortable/flexible if you're planning on walking longer miles, while the Scott is more structured (like a lightweight work boot). I use the Warmlined for my daily trail/urban walks and the Scott for nicer occasions like a date, concert, or family gatherings, etc. FOLTSY20 is active right now if you missed the 25% one.

Please review the Primus Trail FG 2. It's much wider and better. Not sure they even sell the one in the video anymore.

@@AndrewFolts Yeah i had and got rid of the 1st version because it didn't fit. 2nd version fits better and I have an extremely wide foot

If it’s of utility, here’s what Vivobarefoot says the differences are (however I will say it’s pretty non-specific language so I just ordered it anyway to see for myself): “Thank you for your email. Durability: The Primus Trail II FG is noted to be more durable than its predecessor Toe Box: The newer model has a slightly wider toe box, which provides more room for natural toe splay and enhances comfort Design: The Primus Trail II FG features a more foot-shaped design, promoting natural stability and movement Materials: Both models have a breathable mesh upper, but the newer version may have slight improvements in material quality and construction Fit and Sizing: Users have reported that the fit and sizing are quite similar, but the Primus Trail II FG might offer a slightly better overall fit due to its updated design Do hope this helps.”

I tried a pair of the Gobi Warmlined and found they're a little too large. I'm going to return them, but I'm thinking of going with either the Tracker Leather AT or the new Tracker Winter SG II. Is the tracker sized the same as the Gobi (i.e. should I still size down?)
@AndrewFolts21 күн бұрын
I'm a 44 in all three. Vivo in general tends to be slightly long, especially their boots. You could size down if the Warmlined was significantly long, although consider that thick socks can take up a lot of room on cold days.
@Smattyy19 күн бұрын
I still can't get over the fact that your gobi winterised looks so much wider than my warmlined 😅 Mine are so narrow and I don't even have a wide foot. I'm gonna send them back. Wondering if I got a faulty pair or if they made this years model much slimmer😐
@AndrewFolts19 күн бұрын
My Mom bought the new version and complained about it being too narrow, so I wonder if they changed the fit. If so, that would be a really dumb move, because it was perfect. My favorite Gobi alternative is the Realfoot Trekker High. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKKlnKCLrK5pftk No problems whatsoever with the width, ha. Even tho I don't techincally need that much room it feels amazing and provides excellent traction for winter.

Hey Andrew! Any thoughts on the Freet Skeeby for road running? Thanks!
@AndrewFolts9 күн бұрын
I was just talking to them about sending me one test. Looks like a Freet Vibe kzbin.info/www/bejne/inOtlp-fjZytf80 with a more minimal knit upper, which seems like a nice idea.

Hello, thank you for your videos. I have a question about size chart for women. It differs completely on vivaberefoot and revivo sites. Do you know where I could get a true size chart? For example, on Vivobarefoot size 37 equals 6 US, but on Revivo 37 esuals 7. And the length differs as well. So lost :(
@AndrewFolts19 күн бұрын
I would email Vivo's support to be sure, but my mom usually wears a 7-7.5 and the 7 Vivo's fit her with plenty of room at the end.

Did Vivo change the expiration for foltsy25? A few weeks ago you published Dec 10 as the expiration

That was my mistake, I fixed it with a popup card when I went back to watch it and realized I mentioned the wrong date. It's always been Dec 5th.

I've rocked Xero's and Fivefingers for several years but they both have over 6mm sole I believe. I'm curious if there are downsides to such thin 3mm soles? I heard they can be fatiguing on roads, and not enough protection for trails/ rough. What's your experience? What would be the best use cases for thinner and thicker soles?
@AndrewFolts21 күн бұрын
I find that 3-4mm is ideal for roads and I've gone for 15 miles without any issues, although I don't much care for pavement due to how flat and monotonous it can be. For trails 4-6mm is ideal for firm ground and 6-10mm for mud and steep hills.

@@AndrewFolts Thanks!
@StevenJC123-f8t20 күн бұрын
I think this is very person specific. As an example, I find it very discomforting to walk in the Primus Lite III soles on pavement. However, can walk endlessly wearing the Primus Lite FG which has a slightly thicker sole as it’s meant for trail. The best way to find out is to try (but build your mileage up slowly and also mobilize/strengthen your feet). All this being said Andrew is absolutely correct in that walking off-pavement is much better for the brain and body / especially when attempting longer distances ;-)!

@@valdius85 The reality is I only use maybe 5 or so shoes/boots on a daily basis, so although it's fun to test new ones, it doesn't really benefit me on a practical level. I keep them around to use for comparison videos, which people seem to find useful. It totally is weird tho, having like $15,000 of shoes just sitting around. The UPS driver was so confused until I told him what I do for a living, ha.

NZ buyers beware! I ordered some of their shoes from the NZ store two weeks ago and they still havent shipped, citing of the amount of orders they're getting??? They also cant give me an ETA for delivery. Looks like they've added a big disclaimer on their website now saying orders are delayed. I dont buy their reasoning. There's no way the Kiwi store can ship so many shoes that their website cant keep up with the orders. If you guys dont have the stock in the country you’re selling them, then don't sell them on the website and dont lie to your customers! I could have bought two pairs of Altras on Black Friday at the price I paid and then you can’t even deliver.
@AndrewFolts21 күн бұрын
I wonder if they ship to smaller, more remote countries in batches to save money, rather than as they receive the orders? But it def sounds unfair that the disclaimer went up after you ordered. Hopefully they get sent out soon!
