Not a fan of Mumford. It's just not my cup of tea. Really love Winston. He seems super-sincere in a world of largely click-baity partisan KZbinrs. I had a different experience at a pro-Uyghur demonstration. It was held outside the Chinese embassy in London about two or three years ago. It seemed ALMOST EVERYONE there was Muslim. I've still got the free T-shirt. I think it's a topic most people are simply unaware of. There's been no Uyghur equivalent of the Dalai Lama to increase public knowledge, and many sections of the West aren't all that sympathetic to Muslims.

Yeah , like Winston his view is always one of compassionate interest. He also seems like a decent individual. And for sure the University Leaders in the USA was unbelievable, you watch that clip and it simply is staggering that they all cannot bring themselves to say genocide of Jews is bad.... not real. And one of them in particular, Elizabeth Magill, kept on smiling while playing pathetic word games trying to not look like she really wanted to be in the 1940s German gang.... And then to find an African American Female, called Gay, also doing the same bullshit was like it was a SouthPark sketch....

Furthermore, Winston and Andrew will _NEVER_ comment on _WHO’s_ behind financing/coordinating the things they’re against (wokeness/etc), because it’s the same dreidel-players. Winston is literally supportive of the very people who are behind the replacement of his own (so much for educating himself much, for all the reading he said he’s done). And of course Andrew is supportive of them, because once again, he’s in that fam.. Like a true dreidel-player, Andrew will continue to put the focus on IsIam.

@@ericjohnson9468 Being literate offers you the possibility of escaping ideological blinders, but it is no guarantee. You have to actually fucking think about what you're reading. And you also have to have a decent enough background of contextual knowledge. For instance, Lenin spearheaded literacy campaigns in Russia precisely because print is a very effective way to propagandize people. Knowing that would prevent you from sounding like a complete asshole who thinks that reading is the antidote to Marxism, for instance.

BLM has turned out to be a fraudulent joke. The founding members have abused the better part of $90 million in charitable donations, they operate on false narratives with very dangerous intentions, and they have done little to none for the benefit of the any community. In fact one can definitely form a strong arguement that BLM has caused damage to many communities across America. The Police will no longer patrol some areas of Minneapolis. Crime is way up.The Police have been successfully defunded. That is not a good thing ... Winston was railroaded out of his band by the same Populist radical ideology that bleeds from BLM. I just have to make it known how shallow his band mates really are to let this minimal shit tear them apart. It's really unfortunate how possessed some people have become. I’m a young 52 years old, I have a 10 year old boy who is funny, full of energy and never stops talking, I know that I influence him and my humour is from another time, so I fear he may step out of todays accepted guidelines. It’s extremely hard to navigate this but he is very smart and knows who he can say things to and who he cannot. I worry that moving forwards that no topic is safe, no joke is a joke, no comment can be taken as an opinion and no more. It feels like the situation is an ouroboros, when will it end and how will it end. Just a note, I’m not that well read or educated, I’m pretty average, I’m not pretending to be some super aware person.

Thank you Andrew for interviewing Winston Marshall. Winston congratulations for 5 years sobriety. I saw you in Cape Town a few years ago (in the howling wind and after about a 5 hour delay - remember?) and I was transfixed by your guitar playing, which was especially special in the song Tompkins Square Park. I was moved beyond words that night. Thank God you found new avenues to create and express yourself. I am really enjoying listening to you on this Podcast and will look to follow you on your journey into 2024. The line in the song "without holding back my mind" rings true for you and also Andrew. I really agree with a lot of what you are discussing. What a breath of fresh air.

Gosh what a struggle. I hear it in your voices . What to express, what not to? How honest or authentic can I be or should I just evade and hide? I admire you both for your genuine desire to be honest despite a very realistic fear that speaking out endangers you. How exposed we have become and how externalised. I think we have to live our life from the inside out and the more aware of the inner unfolding of who I am the more consciously I can interact with the outside world if I choose to, which in truth is less and less. Trying to live from the outside-in means we lose a sense of who we truly are . There is so much noise, tumult, and chaos going on it is essential that we find stillness and grounding from within. Sitting in a space where we can hear ourselves is essential. That still small voice of calm doesn't come from out there.

Loved the chat thanks One thing to say on Jews. I grew up totally uneducated on what a Jew person was. All I ever heard was funny jokes in the 70s about how tight they are with money and the Germans killed them all for what reason I didn’t know or think about I just knew they were disliked and treated horribly. Growing up in the North East I probably may have not encountered many Jews. But if I did I could have only judged them on character and how they addressed myself. As I was ignorantly naive back in the day. I wish we were all ignorantly naive of each other from a religious perspective then we would only have character to judge others by.

@@GrowYourOwnGYOit hasn't been sanctioned. The press hates Christianity and pounces on every opportunity to twist the Papa's words because they know what a powerful force for good the original church once was and can be again. The more people they can discourage from returning, the better in their minds. Blessings to you and yours.

I have seen them a couple of times in concert and Winston was an integral part of the band. I had no clue he departed the band and under such circumstances. A huge loss for Mumford & Sons

Lovely Interview!! Hilarious that Winston calls Curling - Hurling. That gave me a chuckle during a relatively serious discussion. Can't wait to see that interview. THANK YOU.

Yes, group identity and also pursuit of personal advantage were key reasons people in Nazi Germany aligned themselves with the state and didn't challenge the gross inhumanity which characterised its rhetoric and operation.

People fail on their critique quite often. They might hate some aspects of a movement but come up as racists and people who would like to see trans-people in gas-chambers or without equal human rights. You can have a view of purely scientifical sex and still think adults should be called and treated by the gender they like with a few exceptions like some sports or other places where physical strength plays a role. Toilets are a non-issue as rapists rarely rape because it was convenient, they rape because they are horrible people. Its like banning marriage as some huspands rape.

@@craigbuckley1758 You mean the Socialist who ran Germany? The one that tried to genocide whole peoples and joined with Musl1ms to do so? Yes, the so-called 'Palestinians' fought on Germany's side during WWII as did Bosnian Musl1ms. All the M.E. and North Africa used the National Socialist model in their politics in fact. In fact, to paraphrase, 'Mustache man' said that the West had picked the 'wrong religion' and if Europe was Musl1m he could have used them to make him the ruler of the World, He would have ENCOURAGED I5lam in Europe, so don't run away with your false ideas of him.

Mumford and Sons was one of my favorite bands, love two of their albums and saw them live twice in Arizona. I was very upset when the band did not stand by Winston. I thought Winston was brave for sticking by his convictions. I also like how he had an open mind to actually read things and look for truth. So his bandmates not sticking up for him ticked me off. Most people piling on were not even fans of the band so they were just destroying themselves for nothing.

The rest of his band mates should be ashamed. They were, and remain, ignorant cowards. Most of us are cowards, that's the problem. People like Winston show us that there are higher ideals to strive for, he deserves all the success he gets from here on.
