Elddis Xplore Buccaneer Caravans 2019 First Look

I purchased a Elddis crusader zephyr in July 2019, such an amazing caravan the layout is perfect for us having to be able to shut the bedroom off without being woken up and have an ensuite with the door combination open. with the shower and toilet opposite mid caravan it's just perfect. the lighting is Amazing throughout and natural lighting through that big stargazer roof light is Just perfect . we've had so many comments on its look and style can't wait to to use again ..great video Andrew !

Well 1 year down and we still love our Aruba 😁, had many nights away, seen many parts of the uk that we have never been too before and looking forward to seeing in the new year at Longleat 😁

To be fair, at many previews the prices have not yet been released by the manufacturers (e.g. Coachman), so often they are simply not available on the day of filming.

Most Caravans seem to be very small for 1 or 2 persons, Larger ones seem to use all the space for More Beds ? What about a very large caravan built for 1 or 2 persons, but with LOTS MORE Space & Storage ? The big ones sleep 6. the 2 berth ones are very small. A 2 berth Large luxury caravan is needed. not everyone has loads of kids, but would like all the space for other uses other than sleeping. Extra Storage for more clothes for longer journeys ? Hobbies / Sports Equipment etc. Winter clothing for the Mountain regions, & summer gear for coastal regions all in the same Trip away. Also a Door to the sleeping area so it can be kept warmer in cold weather, rather than heating the whole van. ( rest of van 55 deg, bedroom 70 deg' ?) or whatever separate temp you choose. Mostly for use in colder weather, early or late season etc. My list of Needs in order of importance :- warm comfortable sleeping, good size Shower & toilet ESSENTIAL. Good Storage , Plenty of Battery power & Gas Storage. Less Cooking / kitchen, 2 hob cookers, smaller sinks, More kitchen work top space / table space for TV's Laptops, office, Cooking & other uses. Camping = loads of places to eat out, Lots of takeaways, Vast ranges of very nice cold food, ( salads, Fruit etc. ) Tin of soup, Pot Noodle, etc. You wouldn't Fry a full English Breakfast in a £30 grand caravan ! 14 mornings on a holiday ! More like Coffee & Toast . & A cuppa soup. The Oven is good for cooking a pizza or warming pies etc. A really useful caravan is needed not a show piece ornament of c'van snobbery.

Good points Paul, and I remember some vans like a Lunar Delta that was a huge 2-berth twin-axle. But if it doesn't sell, it doesn't stay. Everyone is different with different needs... my friends G&C have to have a huge all-singing all-dancing kitchen as C's hobby is cooking, and caravanning gives him the time to do it. Meanwhile, K&J need one ring and a microwave! The manufacturers have to strike a balance somehow.

Perhaps Dougal Ditton would be keener on things if a twin axle canine caravan were reviewed. All chew-hide leather interior, restroom with pop-up fire hydrant, and bone handles throughout. Pedal operated water bowl and refrigerator door. Now that's something to smile about.

I do like some of the changes to the Xplore 304 - colour scheme, coloured buttons on the seats, drawers in the kitchen, the shape of the sink in the bathroom, but I'm not keen on the silver strips on the cupboard doors, the repositioning of the shower head, the toothbrush holder which seems to stick out, but over all it's pretty similar to my 2013 version so I love it! You can't improve on perfection!

Love the walkthru's, the Elddis Crusader Storm. Our perfect layout would be, Bathroom in the Mid, Island Bed in the back, Double Leather (emphasis on Leather aka SNL skit with Jimmy Fallon The Leatherman) in the front and we are good to go! Available only in the UK, what a pity!

Xplore 304 looks pretty smart and open. I like that the first thing inside the door is the washroom. If you have a small dinner party outside, guests don't need to travel the length of the caravan just to pee 😀

Love the new retro theme colours in the Xplore. Please please tell me have they moved the screen away from the bed on the transverse models. We didn't buy because of the poor design of this feature. P&J😀😀👍

What I find interesting about UK caravans is your view of "new colors" appears to be just accents in the curtains and pillows. The cushions always appear to be the same shades of beigh or tan and the cabinets always seem to be the same as well.

Yep, 'safe' sells James. Interesting to see what Bailey has done with its Phoenix caravans is to make everything VERY bland, then sell 'accessory packs' in colours like yellow and purple (throws, cushions etc) to jazz it up.

I can see how this would be very profitable to help buyers accessorize. I have a teardrop over here in the States. I guess if I really thought it through, my teardrop "colors" are really on the exterior. The interior is all birch and what I add with blankets and such are the only colors inside...LOL, disregard my first comments. :-)

Not keen on any of those. The bedroom in the Buccaneer looks claustrophobic and the extra seating and table would be a waste of space, so I am not impressed for the price. Disliked the seating in the model prior. Still we all have different tastes and requirements, as is the case with cars and homes.

You can request away... but they are already cut and all follow the same pattern. We had just 6 hours to film all 5 videos, so there simply wasn't the time to film different intros and outros. And I have already spent 5 days editing these five videos!

Is there a mfr. in the UK that makes a "toy hauler" style or an interior that is hard use strength to survive motorcycle, mountain bike, kayak week/weekends (if you just so happen to have a family of 3 young boys)? Interiors that are wipe down and spill resistant to outdoor activities?

Not that I know of. Nothing touches the Knaus Deseo for toy-hauling, and you can make it a four berth with a drop-down bed over the dinette if my memory serves me right. I'll check it out in Düsseldorf again next week.
