The oat milk didn't foam because it doesn't have a high enough fat content. It's the same reason why they make non-dairy milks that are specific for baristas because they have added fat so that they foam up for lattes and such.

The apple juice one just looks like something fun to do with kids. Then you can convince them that is how apple juice is made, and then let them believe that for a few years until they get made fun of at the lunch table for believing that thousands of farmers are standing around every day squeezing apples into apple juice and they never get apple juice boxes again because they are traumatized, and then another decade later they can look back and laugh and cringe and then feel resurgence of the trauma as they watch one of their favorite youtubers squeeze an apple into a cup for content

Actually it is a viable method of making juice. It is called cold press, obviously done by machine and not hand, and it causes more minerals and vitamins to be present in the juice.

i'll never understand the weird in-between space of cooking tiktoks (and a certain style of youtube videos) that seem like theyre intended for beginner cooks because theyre on a kids platform and are super short-form and "simple" recipes, but provide virtually no guidance. its a weird catch 22 where the people that it seems like the recipe is for, beginners or kids, arent able to follow it bc they dont know how to cook well enough to estimate or guess, and then the people that would be able to follow it because theyre good cooks, probably wouldnt be looking for such basic (and frankly boring in the case of the pasta) recipes on tiktok or instagram? so like, who are these videos for exactly? i mean i know the answer is "theyre not FOR anybody to actually cook with or learn from, theyre for people to look at and generate views for profit" but it still drives me crazy lol

It's too bad you didn't know about the OTHER pomegranate hack where you separate the seeds from the pith in a bowl of water so all the seeds sink to the bottom (and don't go flying everywhere) and the pith floats to the top for easy separation. Though tbh it still takes a lot of time to deseed a pomegranate anyway.
@keili7777
@keili7777 3 жыл бұрын
I do a combo of the methods! Open the top as shown, slit down the 5 edges as shown, then submerge under water when you break it apart. Then yeah it still takes like 15+ min to break all the seeds out underwater. Then scoop all the floaty bits out and strain the rest. Whole thing is like a 30 min ordeal lmao and thats the easiest way I know
@crazylatingirl94
@crazylatingirl94 3 жыл бұрын
@@keili7777 the easiest way I knew how was putting the pomegranate halves in a very deep narrow bowl (like a mixing bowl for example) the seeds would still fly around but not usually enough to make it out of the bowl 😅 I've never heard of the water thing though 🤔 interesting
@lina01016
@lina01016 3 жыл бұрын
My favorite is the somewhat messy method of cutting it in half, holding the half cut side down over a bowl of water, and beating it with a wooden spoon so all the contents fall into the water. Takes me way less time than just separating by hand in the bowl.

I think you could probably "prep" the pasta ahead of time so you could just stick it in the oven? It's a lot of pasta and you don't need to have a huge pot to boil all the water. Thinking like a suburban mom, those are the only benefits I see.
@rapa2894
@rapa2894 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm not a mom but I'll be 35 in December and all my friends have kids and I have a spouse myself, the pasta seems like a good hack for hands off cooking. You can prep it in under 10 minutes and then do minimal checking, and then you have a decent dinner ready. Even though it takes longer, you don't have to do anything. This is the same reason slow cooker meals are so popular.
