There's pistachio butter which is just blended pistachios and pistachio cream which is more of a white chocolate spread. The pistachio cream will be a lot cheaper and give more of that pistachio flavor and green color that you're looking for. Pistachio butter will give you the natural pistachio flavor (which is a lot more subtle) and a more brownish green color.

Heres what to do with the dough strand - Künefe It's a turkish/arab desert made with cheese. You have to look up an exact recipe, but basically you line the bottom of a pan with the dough strands tossed in butter. Then layer cheese on top. There is a special arab cheese that you would traditionally use, but I did it with mozzarella and it turned out perfect. You cover the cheese with a second dough layer and bake it. Then you pour cold simple syrup over the künefe while it's still piping hot - it should sizzle. Let it sit for a few moments so it can soak in the syrup and enjoy. It's best when it's still a litttle bit warm.
