Great video as always. I would love to see some in wall speaker reviews. Due to my limited space the planned single garage conversion is the only pace to create a more dedicated cinema area. This means in wall speakers are a must to reduce clutter. In wall speakers reviews seem to be hard to come by from thorough reviewers like yourself. It would also give you more Klipsch speakers to review that you have not reviewed yet. Monitor Audio CP series were also ones I was thinking of for the room.

@@homeofVash We may at some point put together a review of the in-ceiling speakers we have but doing reviews of in walls or anything that requires construction is simply not realistic.
@stephenbrockway58992 жыл бұрын
I think it is great that Klipsch had refined their new speakers. It is a fine line when you try to make a speaker more linear AND maintain the "house" sound. Some die hards may not like it, but then why are there companies like Bob Crites and ALK Engineering selling upgrades for Klipsch speakers? Paul Klipsch's dream was a two way Klipschorn, but he was limited by the technology available and had to make it a three way speaker. I fell in love with the La Scala as a teenager so there will always be a soft spot in my heart for Klipsch. I have moved on to vintage Altec speakers. It can be a slightly more expensive habit.

First, thank you so much for watching and supporting the channel. Do I think the 600s would outperform your 28s? I can't say for certain (I haven't heard them) but I will say this - knowing that your speaker was specifically designed to be sold exclusively at BestBuy tells me that there is a high probability that the construction and materials were likely chosen to maximize BB's profit. I think you are going to hear a potentially less forward and/or aggressive sound with probably similar bass extension from the new 600s. I can definitely say the speaker's physical appearance will be an improvement. I hope that helps.

Outstanding review both the content and visuals! I have the Cornwall IV’s and I agree with you that the midrange is recessed relative to the top and bottom. Maybe, as you suggest, that’s what people think of as the “Klipsch sound”, though to me, the thing that sonically differentiates Klipsch the most is their livelinesses at low volume. In this regard, they remind me of certain electrostatic speakers and are the opposite of typical planar magnetics and omnidirectional speakers; speakers that require lots of current and power to wake them up.

A few days ago I bought a pair of Klipsch rp-500m ii and I liked their sound; they are my first Klipsch and they exceeded my expectations. The characteristic of their sound that I liked the most is that I hear the voices up front, I like that prominence; on the other hand, the high frequencies were not aggressive to my ears. I paired them with a Rotel 1572mkii integrated and a velodyne subwoofer. Good video.

Hope this message finds you well. I just ran across your channel about a month ago and have been going through the archives and really enjoy what you (and Kristi) do. I have a quick questions and thanks in advance because I know you're busy. I'm not an audiophile by any means but I do like my music and mainly shows/movies that I watch to sound good. And I like to keep it as simple as possible because I'm past the days of home theater speakers all over the place (and their wires) and multiple remotes. I currently have the Klipsch The Fives with a Klipsch R-101SW subwoofer. I bought The Fives mainly because of the hdmi connection to again keep things as simple as possilbe and again not have to use multiple remotes. I don't dislike them but the vocals, the main thing I'm in to because of the overwhelming amount of media I consume being shows/movies, even with the addition of the subwoofer are still a little stuffy for my taste. Again, I'm nowhere close to an audiophile so I don't quite know how to explain it but it just sounds a bit muffled no matter what I do. It's not as bad as I may be making it out to be but it's not a clear/open as I'd like. For this reason, because I love the sub and would like to stay in the family if possible, I was thinking of possibly purchasing a set of these 600M/II or possilbly the 500M/II. My issue being now having to get an amplifier to power them and my inability to find an amplifier with an hdmi connection (that isn't thousands of dollars). Listening to your review of the 600M/II I think they may provide the more clear vocal range I'm looking for but do you have any recommendations for an amp with the characteristics I'm looking for? I saw some AV receivers that may fit the bill but I don't want or need all of the "V" portion of those systems because they won't be used as I run everything directly to my oled. Thanks in advance for your time. Keep up the great work!
@andrewrobinsonreviews2 жыл бұрын
Before you sell or change anything, are your speakers placed close to a wall or in a cabinet? If so, try pulling them forward so there is at least a foot between the back of the speaker and your wall. Next, angle the speakers so that they are pointed directly at your listening position where you sit. You can also go inside the Klipsch app and adjust the tone controls specifically boosting the treble 1-3 dB or turning the bass down the same. Lastly, I would try experimenting with the placement of your subwoofer and volume because it is possible that the sub is either set too high and is overpower your speakers or that you have chosen a poor location for it. I would start here. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!!
@hcjohnson32 жыл бұрын
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Thank you for the tips. I've ordered some speaker stands today so I can move them further from the wall (they're currently at about 8" now because they are sitting on the stand next to the tv) and better direct them toward my listening position. I was having the issues prior to the sub and partly purchased it to remove what frequency I could from The Fives and have also tweaked the eq settings previously. I have a feeling the imaging and position changes you recommended are going to make a big difference... at least I hope so. Thanks again, it's much appreciated.

Hi, I bought RP-600M about 5 years ago. Last week I was blasting some house music really loud through a cambridge audio streamer. My listening room is small square, as in 12ft x 12ft. I removed the woofer to see the cone is almost separated and when I push it in and out I hear grinding/scratchy sound. I also noted after taking off the grill, there are dimples on the gold coloured centre area of the woofer. I am very sad to see this happen and seek your advice. My hifi setup is fairly a complex one. I have 3 dbx sound processors going into a Hitachi preamp which goes to a NAD 2200 Envelope Power Amp. With the help of a switch, I also can toggle between the NAD amp and a Marantz 250M power amp. What I think I've done is while engaging and disengaging different bass boost settings in the 3 dbx sound processors, I've put too much load onbthe speakers. I am not a techy guy, just assuming. Would you recommend I buy RP-600M II and just be careful before boasting frequencies while volume is loud or search for a new replacement woofer. Appreciate if you could kindly give me some direction. Loved watching your video. Thanks.

I have been looking at V1 as the perfect entry to try out the Klipsch sound. I think that Klipsch would be an amazing HT speaker with the level of dynamics everyone says they have. You make it sound worth the wait for V2. Great video as always you two. Thanks!

Finally, a review of the 600m, albeit version 2. I have the original and have considered upgrading recently. I was thinking going more “upscale” for better sound. Instead, I may simply add a set of v2 along with a marantz 6015 and call it a day. Loved the review.

I’m in the market to upgrade my front speakers. I also have the klipsch 504c but I’m more concerned with music vs speaker matching for home theater. If I spend upwards of $2000 on bookshelf’s, would I really see that much of a gain over the v2? Or am I better off sticking with relatively matched speakers? I’ve watched all your videos. You guys are def the best, hands down.

I have the 600M II and Heresy 1 - and while I like the 600M II, for loud orchestral music (like Respighi Pines of Rome or Mahler, etc.) I like the tonal balance of the Heresy much better. Given they're quite different speakers in design and age overall I still have a strong preference for the Klipsch Heritage series. I sit within large orchestra brass sections playing the kind of music mentioned previously and I haven't heard any other speaker - including the supposedly "smooth and linear" speakers that another commenter prefers and who claims Klipsch is for party/home theater - that comes close to being able to reproduce what an actual brass section sounds like.

Oh also PEQ. One thing folks might like to know is that if these are like the previous model, they have excellent directivity and therefore respond very well to Parametric eq - which means the speaker can be tweaked to taste without generating conflicting issues in the process. I like the old Klipsch sound better. This version is too refined for my taste and they boosted the mids in such a way you don’t get any of the smiley face EQ you had before. The best balance was the RF ii and RB ii from back in 2011 era. Still had titanium tweeters, but way more bold overall. I don’t care about speakers that are dead linear. As long as they’re not harsh. And those aren’t IMO. If all you listen to is maybe classical music, the new RP series works. If you’re rock, pop, jazz, house, go with older RF, RP, and RB ii. My opinion - there’s no ultimate answer here.

Hey Andrew. Just got a pair of these with Yamaha RN-800A. A bit confused as to how to connect the cables to the back of the speaker... there are four terminals. I see how you connected them in this vid but made me more confused tbh. Do I just connect to any red and black terminal? Help?
@beeaech17995 ай бұрын
Hook your Red and Black wires (Positive / Negative) from the receiver to the "L" side, the "L" stands for "Load." The other two are for something called "Bi-Amping." In the video, he has the center-most ones being used, which is also fine, since the jumper wires between all the lugs...it really doesn't matter. So either use the "L" side, or put your wires into the center-most Black/Red Ports.
@beeaech17995 ай бұрын
I'd use either 16 Gauge or better yet...14 Gauge wires with Sewell Banana Plugs. I'd also cut two speaker wires the same length, even though one might have a little more slack than the other one.

@@beeaech1799 Thank you!!!!
@robomaster4882Ай бұрын
@@Gypsydanger1Do not do what the previous poster said about connecting to the center red black terminals. It won't do any harm but your speakers will not play. If you are using one stereo amp connect the speaker output of each channel to the positive (red) and negative (black) of the Klipsch L (low) terminals. Use the jumper cables to connect the red terminals together and then the black terminals. This jumps the signal to the H (high) inputs for the tweeter. If you ever run two stereo amps you can wire one to the L terminals and one to the H terminals. In this case you would remove the jumper wires.
@robomaster4882Ай бұрын
@@beeaech1799 L stands for Low. H stands for High. The L terminals go to the woofer and the H terminals go to the tweeter. They are separately wired for possible bi-amping.

I've never been so anxious to hear what Kristi thinks....and what she said has sold me on these guys. If Kristi likes them, they must be good. I have Klipsch RP400M's for my home cinema system, with Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-402S for surrounds, and a Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C for the center channel. And, of course, a nice big 10" Klipsch subwoofer to round out the system. They are fantastic, and the reason why I like them, is what Andrew said: the off-axis sound is impressive. Not everyone can sit in the "sweet spot" when watching TV's or movies, so having a nice WIDE sweet spot is a must, and the Klipsch really deliver in that regard. Most importantly, the speed and power of their woofers is just incredible, even on the originals models. Best combo home theater/music speakers on planet earth, bar none. The only brand I would go to as an upgrade to Klispch: Martin Logan.

My Heresy IVs ROCK! My advice to Klipsch, take a lesson from Harley-Davidson! They attempted for the last decade to pursue the non-Harley rider and failed, nearly bankrupting the brand. A new CEO who realized they needed to pursue their core customer was hired and now they are selling motorcycles again at a profit. They are focused on pleasing their customer rather than converting others. Do what you do to the best of your ability.

I bought the 600 m 5 days ago knowing absolutely nothing of reviews or opinions. I installed them to a 2 channel receiver that puts out 100 watts per channel. I listened to my new Denon turntable, cds and Blu-ray music, I listened to bluetooth music. I was just totally thrilled. For example I listened to “tempted” by Squeeze, and it was shaking my sternum and I heard little percussion things that I never remembered hearing before and I was in heaven. Then I got on you tube and these guys with graphs and sh!t told me that objectively the 600 m speakers are horrible and you are not hearing a huge chunk of the music from the source. They proved to me that my extreme level of joy and satisfaction is not really happening at all. Says so right there on paper that I am not enjoying it and I am not hearing what I am hearing. That soon I will develop listening fatigue. So even though I love love the sound, I know it’s not a good sound at all so I tore them out of the receiver and just chucked them out into the street. I can’t believe how full of crap some of these guys are with their graphs and their snotty little pot belly attitudes. I am so glad I didn’t watch the bad reviews before purchasing. I probably would have spent 3 times as much and hated myself for that. Graphs be darned I love the way they sound.

I put a333 configuration on each of the four walls about 5 ft above the floor..+ 2 15 in 600 watt subwoofer set.. this sounds as good or better than a bunch of Tower floor standing speakers.. the power rating to the Klipsch 600m V2 is 200 w atts x 😊 Twelve of these.. I understand that that many may be able to afford that sort of setup but it is absolutely sonically awesome. Being 5 foot off the floor it's above all the furniture and there is no complexion with the sound because of the fact that they are away from all furnishings together. So if you can give it a try I think you'll like it😊

Klipsch needs to make a decent center channel and get away from the MTM config. Their off axis response is way too narrow at +/-10 degree. I have the 440c I sit about 15 degrees from center and it sounds fine until I bend my head in and I'm hearing nuances that disappear just be moving 5 or so degrees away. Klipsch should make a 3 way for the RP line with a W T/M W topology. Their bookshelves/towers, Atmos and bipoles are perfectly good otherwise with some EQ to taper down those hot tweeters a bit.
