*Andrew and I sincerely appreciate seeing this community help raise money for those impacted by Helene and Milton. One of our viewers shared that the donations have made a real difference in Asheville and surrounding areas in NC. Some areas are still without power following Helene, but at least they have access to food and water thanks to the organizations on the ground and donations like yours.*

As I once stated before, this is why I love this channel. As an audiophile enthusiast for fifty-plus years I never really completely understood the nuts & bolts of it all. I really struggle to understand the hardware aspect of it all. I just want to listen to my music with the best of what I can reasonably afford. Looking at all the new technology I want to change with the times too but fear of making purchases I don't fully understand can be filled with anxiety. I agree with with just about everything you stated. Still learning so, thank you for that!

Some of my most memorable musical experiences (not the most high fidelity, mind you) were listening to records on our console stereo back in the 70s. I’d pay good money to get that back.

Absolutely LOVE the look of the Ruark console gear. As a kid my main source of music was always a very large console audio system my dad would play almost continuously instead of turning on the TV. In all honesty I would love to be able to grab that console stand unit for my dad for Xmas if I can manage it. Great video guys, thanks.

Hey, I'm that guy who has been in the audio separates game for 40 years... 😅 lol. But your reviews and thoughts on the new soundbars, all-in-one Canvas or B&O type speakers have changed my mind and if I could down to a speaker or two that looks like furniture? Hell, I am all in and open to it. Why not? Still like my separates in the 5.1 I am rocking now, But an A9 or two, if I had the budget, call me converted. And I'm 54.

As with anything, the best upgrade we can have for ourselves is an open mind. When it comes to hifi and home theater, so many people write off alternative solutions based on no first-hand experience at all, but because the echo-chamber has decided these types of products are "bad."

One of these days, I'll get an Oracle Delphi. I don't care whether it's working or not., as long as it's in very good cosmetic condition. I'll be happy just to look at and admire the design, each time that I enter the room. From an industrial design viewpoint, it was a ground breaking turntable 50 years ago and, for me, represents the perfect marriage of aesthetic and sonic attributes.

Seems that Bose was (is still?) a leader in using tech (901s w/the EQ module, then the Acoustimass series) to overcome the “big, obnoxious” problem to hide a capable system in plain sight. I used to say that “like engines, in speakers, there is no substitute for cubic inches.” Now, I _am_ the guy with two pairs of Cornwalls (IIIs, IVs), yet drive a 300hp 2-liter MINI with an automatic, because it’s actually fast _and_ efficient all thanks to tech (it’s nearly as fast as my aunt’s ‘24 Mustang GT Premium, with twice the fuel economy).

21:00 I also wanna add something there that I found out within the user guide pdf of the Theatre on B&O’s website, apparently you can use 3rd party speakers with the Theatre as well although you might have to do measurements and calibration manually, and they also announced adding support for speakers outside of the Beolab series like the Level, A5, Beosound 2, Balance, etc. at CEDIA last month, release date is not yet announced but hopefully soon. I think makes the Theatre’s new price somewhat justified? but of course $11,000 is still a lot.

I feel that the transition of all separates to an all in one is inevitable for many companies, but even now what I think that happens is that all though you have products that appeal to that traditional hi fi world, they’re still future proof like the marantz m1, but for what I’ve seen is that now the purist can’t conceive having a digital amp that uses dsp, because if it’s not analog it’s bad, and sooner or later I think that’s what gonna happen to a lot of companies in the hi fi world, they either transition into an all in one set up or separates that actually have benefits over just “that is the true hi fi way”

Canvas hit the ground running...but they still need time to mature as a brand and innovate products that meet the needs of their more modern target demographic....the I/O panel leaves a bit to be desired and looks like an awkward afterthought to the functionality of the speaker. It's a nice looking speaker with decent frequency response...I would opt for the grill that won't chomp you like a spiteful Langolier 😂 and for the price, it should definitely have better connectivity options and include the mic

I'm going to try getting a question in here. These days, most companies rate power output for receivers/AVRs, etc. are typically into two (or sometimes one) channels even though it may be a 7.2 channel device. When you review these types of units, you do inform your viewers of the manufacturer's rated power output. Is there some reason that the power output per channel(s) cannot be evaluated as part of the review? Thanks.
@andrewrobinsonreviews
@andrewrobinsonreviews 2 сағат бұрын
We always specify the number of channels used to achieve power output figures when describing power output and include verbiage letting folks know that power is likely to "drop" as you add more channels. If a brand shares all channel-driven figures, we communicate that, too.

Morning! I’m late as always, but I have some thoughts: I think the major problem right now, not just in this hobby, but overall is that people have grown accustomed to demonizing anyone and anything that isn’t what they believe or want themselves. Your opinion is different from mine? You’re bad (normally now it’s a far worse use of words but you get the point). And it’s getting crazy out of hand. It doesn’t matter if you’re a “purist” or not. If it’s not your cup of tea just move on to something that is, it’s that simple. But no, people love to go out and destroy everyone for agreeing or showing interest in a product that’s very different. Even when it actually isn’t. Good example is The Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei controversy. Tons of people complaining it’s not the same main character and now is a woman. Even though the first entire game you play alongside absolute badass women and many of them. And the worst thing is, the voices of those who complain about things like that are actually being acknowledged. Unless you have truthfully constructive criticism, by all means, thank you for taking the time and giving it to the developer or manufacturer. But otherwise, they should be flat out ignored. And if Canvas as a brand can figure out how to balance really loud people from those who want to help improve their product and brand, they’ll achieve and produce miracles. Even as someone who’s very old school and loves a pair of big towers with an AB class amplifier, I’m absolute stoked to see where this brand goes next and brings to the market. Guys, this is a hobby, it’s supposed to be fun, enjoyed and shared with friends, not cause another migraine. Let’s just all agree to disagree and move on to the next thing rather than keep fighting over things we don’t even own. If you like to dip your fries in mayo instead of ketchup, you’re till welcome in my house. So long you don’t dip them in your milkshake, that’s blasphemy. That is a joke for those with a short fuse. 😂 Great conversation as always! Hope everyone is ready for this Friday and a fun weekend!

**This may be the wrong video to ask this question, however, here it is: Who and How are artist/producers creating high quality audio? For example; what genres of music are HQ now-a-days and how is that audio made available to the listener in it's original HQ format?
@andrewrobinsonreviews
@andrewrobinsonreviews 2 сағат бұрын
In my opinion (and people are free to disagree), there isn't ONE place, producer, or label producing high-quality audio. Unfortunately, it varies from situation to situation. Even some higher quality or higher res recordings touted by many audiophiles are little more than "upscaled" CDs and not high res at all. The important thing, at least to me, is to get sucked into the music versus worrying about the quality. If you connect with the music, your brain won't get too hung up on the quality, and I would venture to guess your system will even sound better if you take this approach😉.
