I agree. If I had to pick my top 3: Sput still No.1, Borlai a close 2nd, and Harrison representing us Brits as a very close 3rd. All of them not only technical wizards but also incredibly musical too. Although having said that, maybe El Estepario should have a whole completely separate category for himself haha

Saw him with Toto. In fact he was the reason I went to the concert. He was as great as you could expect, plus the whole band was fantastic. A concert I would have missed If it wasn´t for him. So glad I went there.

ah man i loved that really is modern jazz funk i guess man i was practicing earlier on and i did teenage dirt bag a track I've heard a million times before and i did it with the notation and recoded back and listened to it i though man im a drum god and now I've actually listened to the drum god lol mind blowing man this is why i fix cars and he's doing this excellent man great pic great video

When Snarky Puppy exploded with Lingus and everybody discovered Larnell Lewis, I thought "wow, the original drummer who couldn't make the gig must be pissed he couldn't get THAT spotlight". Turns out the original drummer is Sput, so yeah, no worries, dude is fine.

My favorite moment was one that Andrew missed because he was looking away to write down notes. Starting at 8:50, Sput looked like he was gonna hit that deep snare (? snom) but held off. I’ve always thought he knew he wasn’t gonna hit it yet and acted like he might just to build the drama. The tuning and sound of the drums is incredible. What a journey he takes us on here!
