great review, the only thing I don't like about this rod (I've been using it regularly for about four months) is the small guides. Even with a thin diameter, the knot between fluorocarbon and braid often gets caught on the tip guide. As you can imagine, this stops the line during bait casting and immediately creates a bird's nest, which really frustrates me because it ruins the whole experience. Slightly larger diameter guides-especially on my travel version with four sections-wouldn't negatively impact the rod's functionality or change its character, but they would add valuable versatility in different conditions and with various setups. Since traveling means fishing in different locations, requiring different presentation techniques, this would be a significant improvement. I usually use a fluorocarbon leader about 60-100 cm long, and even the most precise Albright knot still tends to catch on the guides (im using 0,06 braid and mostly 0,21 -23 fluo leader). Overall, it's a great rod. I'll soon post a video on KZbin showing some perch fishing, where you can also see how the rod handles under more challenging conditions. I'd be even happier if this rod were around 2 meters (about 7 feet) long. I don't always wade, and sometimes it's more comfortable to cast from the bank, especially when casting around bushes. This allows me to stay hidden and keep the lure in the middle of the channel or main current longer before the river pushes it toward the bank. Cheers!

I would suggest using different knots OR/AND thinner leader as in reality with this 0.23 mm. is overkill. Thanks.

Great review! I can see that it is a hollow-tip rod. Have you ever tried to use solid-tip rods? I have already a hollow-tip rod and I find that it is difficult to use/cast in tight spaces. Maybe you can share your insights?

There is a separate video on solid VS tubular..

@@AndrewsKnots Hi Andrew, I have just watched this video on your YT channel kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2rGYniuerupp80 Unfortunately it is a general video and does not address my specific question about casting light lures with a BFS set-up in tight spaces. With a tubular tip baitcasting rod, I find it difficult to control the casting, either with a standard side cast or with a pitch. Indeed either the rod hits tree branches, or the lure gets snagged in bushy vegetation during the back cast, or the casting distance is very short... I think about switching rods with a solid tip carbon rod or a fiber glass rod, like the ones that Japanese trout anglers use when casting light lures with a BFS set-up. I do not know if your insights can be of any help.

Hi Andrew I have one coming, but are you running in huge waiting times as soon as the rods touch europe? I live in Portugal and all my rods are on Netherlands/France/Germany for up 2 weeks after taking 1 week to go out of China, also after leaving the EU sorting center it's 1 day to get home. Should be a nice pair for the Silver Feather

Hi Andrew When the rod states Line Rating of say 4 to 6 LB. Is this Mono line??? Great videos by the way.
@AndrewsKnots6 ай бұрын
Hi, It will be mono or braid or FC or anything else really. I personally don't pay attention to any rod's line LB rating as casting rating what's important to me.

I order the purelure bfs telescopic travel rod (high end one which cost 100 USD) rod which came in damage with a crack reel seat, so I message them, and they sent me a replacement (cost 5 USD) also, came in damaged by the wrap of the eyes. I then ask for refund and got denied due to receiving items already.
