For me, when it comes to music, I like to keep those fuck ups and little unnoticeable errors in my music. When I finally form a band and get a studio, that will be my first rule of recording. Those little mess ups for me just make a song sound natural and raw, while songs that are too perfect sound artificial and inhuman. Now, I don't want any legit mess ups that involve playing something completely wrong. I mean, part in the song where the bass becomes really loud? Keep it! Squeaky note caused by an accidental harmonic while soloing? Keep it! Low key voice crack while singing? Keep it! Part where the snare drum plays a different tone than usual? Keep it! But I don't want there to be any missed notes or wrong notes or intense voice cracks or anything that's an actual messed up, played wrong performance.

@Aldo en la noche Exactly. That's why I don't like Megadeth much. New Megadeth anyway. I mean, I haven't listened to a lot of their songs just mainly their 90's stuff. I'm sure if I gave their old records a try they might be good. I've heard a few songs from the 80's. But anyway from I heard of Megadeth's music, it's just way overproduced and way too perfect.

There's no healthy way of adding drive or rasp to your vocals. Do this for too long and you'll develop calluses on your vocals cords that can only be surgically removed. This is the reason Axl Rose can't sing the way he did in his prime.

@@pyre13 Nope, there aren't. No long term studies that prove it exist. The fact that some people have more vocal resilience doesn't mean their technique is safe. Take Mike Patton, for example.
