When piccolo tries to convince kami to merge with him to kill them, kami says that the z fighters antagonized them first and the androids acted in self defense. However one snippet I remember in the funi dub, after 16 hits cell with the hell’s flash, 17 thinks Cell is dead. I specifically remember 17 saying something along the lines, “ Wow 16, with that power we can do whatever we want in this world.” I think they just needed to be humbled cause lowkey I can kinda understand the future androids a teensy tiny bit without the killing of course.

Nah, Vegeta was literally in shock. Arm was broke so quick, his brain needed time to process exactly how bad that was. Real talk though, even people that like Krillin will let you know, the streets ain't never gonna let him forget how soft he was in the Android Saga (as they should). Vegeta, Krillin, and Yamcha probably got the worst treatment over the course of the Android/Cell Saga.

The switch from the Androids turning bad to good was written so well because they made you feel and understand the necessity. You hate the Androids for what they do in the future, but when Cell comes (who is pure evil and wants to absorb them), the Z fighters are forced to protect the Androids to keep Cell from absorbing them. Maybe Krillin not destroying 18 out of infatuation was a little far-fetched, but so was Goku letting Vegeta live, and luckily it worked out🤣. Piccolo, Vegeta, and the Androids were all put in a position where they had to fight together with the Z Fighters, and in doing so, were shown love and compassion which radically changed their hearts. Piccolo was forced to fight with Goku to kill Raditz and took Gohan under his wing when Goku died, Gohan showed Piccolo (who was preparing to kill Goku) friendship and softened his heart, now Piccolo is like his uncle. Goku let Vegeta live to fight him again someday. It was a huge risk, but then Vegeta was forced to fight with Krillin and Gohan on Namek and even begged Goku to destroy Frieza after opening up to him about Frieza destroying Planet Vegeta, killing King Vegeta, and basically making Vegeta his slave. It hit hard when Vegeta said, "He made me what I am," right before Frieza killed him. Then being brought back to life, going to Earth, and falling for Bulma after she cared for him gave him something to fight and live for other than his own pride. Even Gohan knocking him out of the way and taking Cell's Kamehameha changed him. The Z Fighters risked their lives to save the Androids from Cell, which also radically changed their hearts. Krillin could've killed 18 but chose not to, which also changed her.

My best guess with why the present androids were both more powerful and more evil is likely because the z fighters didnt chase Gero back to his lab. Future Trunks being there and saying "thats not one of the androids I'm talking about" makes them chase Gero. When most likely in the original timeline they opted to let him go. Where he got to the base and properly finished the androids instead of rushing their activation because the Z fighters were knocking on his door. EDITED changed "future" for "present" (must have been typing this really fast)

I think the difference with Krillin as compared with the other Z Fighters. Is Krillin is usually the last one to jump in because he is afraid he'll die again and as far as he's aware he can't keep being wished back. Where is the other Z Fighters are usually like let's hold out until Goku gets here, or it's now a fight between everyone and we're going to die either way so we might as well fight. While Krillin usually comes around in those particular circumstances he was like they'll just let us go if we don't fight them they've already made this clear and he's probably confused why they didn't just wait because I know I would be in that circumstance. Just like it wasn't required any of us get beat up let alone all of us, so I understand both sides of the argument. They said you could go home or keep getting beat up you decided to keep getting beat up they said no jumping at that point it was entirely our own fault y'all got y'alls ass kicked. Granted you should help your friends by there comes a point where your brain is just like no they've done themselves, you've gotta at least get out of here but you still feel like you should help. So by the time Krillin processed all that the fight was already over...
