8:34 Fun fact: One of the animators for some of Naruto's fights (mainly the Naruto vs Momoshiki and Kakashi vs Obito) actually studied Wing Chun. It's why later on in the series, Naruto uses some of the moves from Wing Chun. Also just in case someone doesn't know why Naruto using Wing Chun is bad ass, please go watch some Ip Man clips. Naruto would be a whole ass menace if he used it like it was irl.

The commentator doesn’t understand the symbolism of the scratch on the headband …. Sasuke always insulted Naruto by saying ‘you couldn’t even scratch my headband’. In this fight, Naruto isn’t trying to kill Sasuke he is trying to save him so OFCOURSE he isn’t going for a lethal shot, instead he shows Sasuke they are equal by in fact doing what Sasuke believed Naruto couldn’t and proving to Sasuke what he didn’t want to acknowledge - it symbolises the equality of their PAIN, their shared burden, that they are brothers. Sasuke is going for the kill so that he can reach his true potential of his mangekyo in order to kill itachi, so he goes for the kill shot but in the end he cannot help but love Naruto as he is the only person who has any idea as to the depth of Sasuke’s hatred, rage and loneliness.

im pretty sure the naruto animators have used an animation style known as rotoscoping in the past most likely in this fight lee vs gaara and naruto and sasuke's final fight. basically rotoscoping is tracing over real life footage like im pretty sure they used some bruce lee footage for lee etc because idk how else they can make some of the fighting look so smooth and realistic like. also they're releasing a few eps in new clean af animation style set during the og naruto era for the 20th anniversary im not sure if they're old eps remade or new eps made for the anniversary but either way they gonna be clean as hell they were supposed to come out in a few weeks but have been delayed last min for quality meaning they probs almost done

The animation of the new one piece fights are good. But the characters fighting are not as compelling or “well-written” as naruto vs sasuke. Oda is not as good as kishimoto when it comes to written two characters while building suspension for their fight. Obito vs kakashi, itachi vs sasuke, so many fights that are so well written in naruto.
