Oh but I know what Sony tried to do... mainly tried to lower screen resolution because with the same premium processor and RAM that the other flagships it would have better performance. Now, all the other stuff.... I live in Japan... and in Japan, the smartphone game is Iphone / Sony, there absolutely 0 LG, Samsung, HTC, you name it, I'd say is around 70% Iphones, 20% Xperia and 10% Aquos, Lenovo etc (not LG nor Samsung). What I'm trying to say is that they build this phone to sell it in Japan, that's it. In Japan there's no competition on the Android market so Sony can do whatever they want like, build a $300 phone and sell it with a price tag that says $700, and people will buy it, because they don't know other way. Like literally, a Friend of mine came to visit last month, she lost her phone and it was a samsung, we went to the police station and the people in there didn't even know Samsung... and is understandable, on some stores of used products (Book Off) I stumbled upon the Samsung Galaxy S5 and S6... but they're named just Galaxy S5, not Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung has such a bad reputation in Japan, that they sell their flagships without their name.

The NFC placement actually makes sense. It means you can use it without changing how you're holding the phone. It's just different. Only problem would be for things that need you to use the screen while it's connecting.

for normal usage 1080p is more than enough imho, but if you were to use your display for VR, the pixel density will be low to give you the immersed feel. I owned an xperia z ultra, the display is gorgeous. It is sad to see the decline in Sony mobile performance

I have a Sony Experia X Performance. Previously, I had a Sony Experia Z. To be honest, I find the camera much better on the X, than the Z. I've heard a lot of negative reviews on the X Performance. The battery charges faster on the X Performance. It takes about an hour to fully charge from 0%. The battery also lasts longer on the X.

I only have two things to argue with your opinions in this video: 1, fingerprints feature only disappears on X (US or say, NA version) but not on X performance. 2, 4k, 4k resolution is only applied on video recording and some made it realized only when displaying media files. So I think, which might because you are misunderstood, you are just trying to misleading or confusing the audience. Otherwise, just friendly tips, you should try to focus more on the optimization part of this phone, that is where SONY`s problems always starts. Have you ever seen iPhone support microSD cards up to 200Gb, stunting cameras with 23mp in raer and 13mp in front? Of course not, but the price is still there and nobody really complains that much about it, not on the phone itself or the price, that is because Apple always do a good job on their phone`s optimization. Thus, instead of trying to look for something to talk about and talk big on some feature that is not even daily necessary (like these two above), you should focus more on how much better this generation of SONY phones have done on optimization than their last generation. That is what is worthy to be talking about when a phone is pricing at $700. Because optimization means if a phone can perform like a boss. Peace.

This phone is the PERFORMANCE modal. Making the 1080p screen ideal since it puts less strain on the processor. It also saves more battery... the NFC is on the front because the back is aluminum which blocks the NFC signal. Other aluminum phones have antenna bands on the back to make the NFC signal work.

by the way, the Xperia X performance does have a fingerprint sensor, but that's only on international phones.

The X and X Performance DOES have a fingerprint sensor. United States variant doesn't come with fingerprint sensor but other countries do come with it ..

I own a Z3. One of the best phones I ever owned. But I couldn't really recommend it to many people over, say, a S5 or M8 of the time. I would love to have a non gimped X Performance, but really couldn't justify it on features or performance to others, and would be a hard sell for me personally.
