​@@KapitanMiodas On a long term basis S9 will some what degrade in turns of performance but M2 processor in Air will work just fine even after 6 years but buy a S9 tab because Air has a 60Hz which even you will through out after 2-3 years. If you have enough budget then go for the ipad pro.

Completely agree... I tried to love iPad by using it for 1 year... But nah... I kept on hitting "you can't do that here" wall way too many times... Small things that i can even do in my android budget phone was not doable in ipad... The most annoying one was limited app availability and on top of that region blocked apps and "you need ipad pro" blocked apps... I just felt like i was in a cramped prison ( i use linux and android where anything is possible, so it effected me so much )

I thought of buying S9+, that is large and I'm not that productive, so easy carry and portability, went for S9 256 GB, though, easy to carry, especially durability.... Tablet, always 11 inch for me...... 12.4.inch large for productivity, 14+ I'll use a laptop...... Seriously S9, 11 inch is the real value for money and practical usage , 256 GB, 12GB variant is good...S9 FE is good, however due to the processor In the long run, don't think so if will be smooth, so go for S9..... Win win...

I upgraded from my tab s8 (since no tab s10 in that form factor) - happy I did. Samsung's tradein program is great (gave me $400 for the tab s8). I like taking notes by hand - the ability to sync OneNote between the tab s9 and my work laptop works seamlessly. Easy to add a meeting agenda and paste in text via the laptop, then open in the tablet and add rule lines, then add to those notes with the sPen.

I love mine. I've had a base S9 since launch (had the keyboard cover included) and its been a mutlimedia beast. The display and audio are phenomenal. I use it to mainly to stream video, audio, and watch my videos from my S24U. The Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is great and the battery life has been good. (Not bad not great). My favorite tablet to date.

Great video. I’m more in the Apple ecosystem, but last year I got the Z fold 4 and it’s amazing device, and with Dex and multitasking for me is a better option than an iPad, especially for my use case. Both iPad and Tab S9 are amazing devices, just depend what do you do and what do you need. Thanks for the video.

I agree 100%. I do recommend iPads to a lot of people. Obviously they have some great devices out right now. It's all about what you prefer. Each have pros and cons. I'm impressed by this new Apple hardware for sure. But I do think Samsung provides a really good value right now

I have this tablet and I love it. Best tech purchase I've ever made. I'll have it for quite awhile since Samsung appears, for now at least, to be dropping the 11 inch flagship tab. Hopefully by '27 or '28 they'll have come to their senses and added 11" back to their future generations. For me and a lot of people it's the best size for how they use their tab. If you looking to get this I highly recommend before they stop production for this model. There's nothing else like it on the market.

@@cwilson31 Battery life is good I but honestly I don't have extensive knowledge of comparable tablets to use as a baseline. It's probably a little better than my prior Tab S7. If it's only for streaming you might be able to get by with a FE model. But the OLED (Super AMOLED) screen is awesome for streaming video.

I have been months behind on my comments, but saw it showed you as one of my top commenters, and BAM! I found it. I remember you commenting on some of my first TERRIBLE videos. So I have to try to respond! Yes, the Galaxy Tab A9+ and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE are the two best cheaper tablets. The S9 FE is the better and comes with a stylus, but it will cost around $300. Maybe $250 if you are lucky. The A9+ is the cheapest, and it can go on sale between $150 and $230 depending on the day. There is a version with 128GB of storage and if you go with the A9+ I'd look for that model, just because it has more RAM. Hopefully this helps. Sorry it's so late.

I have the s8 ultra and I think it is great, it is much cheaper than the s9 ultra, that's why I bought it because I wanted a bigger screen. Now, onto the s8, I think it is good, but it doesn't have the oled screen. I think the process chip is better than the s9 fe, but the s8 series doesn't have waterproof like the s9 and the s9 fe series. So that being, I would look into getting the s8+ or the s8 ultra because it has the oled screen. I think the s8 is a little more than s9fe around 100 more. I found only 1 new s8 plus at $699 at a local computer store , but the s8 ultra is at $699 at Best Buy. While the s9fe and plus is at $449-$599. So I think it is a toss-up between the s8 vs. the s9fe. S8 better process chip and has 120hz refresh rate but not waterproof. S9fe a little weaker process chip with 90hz refresh rate but waterproof. Edit: I think at Walmart as s8 is going for $399. And the s8 plus is going for $499. I think as new.

It's definitely great. But not an AMOLED screen in the base tab S8. It's still very fast. But you're going to get worse battery life, you won't get water resistance, and you'll get a small step down in performance. And no AMOLED screen. That might sound like a lot, but when you're saving hundreds of dollars, if you find it used or for a really good deal out there, it can definitely be great for the bargain hunters. You'll get 80 or 90% of the speed, you'll still get a 120 Hertz refresh rate, a great s pen experience, very very good performance again. And the display looks good. Just not great. So a good value for those who are willing to settle for some compromises. The S8 Plus and Ultra both have amoled. But they do lack water resistance, a little less brightness in all of the s8 models, and the same small hits in performance and battery life. But again, very good tablets at a fraction of the price. I think they are definitely worth considering. For those bargain hunters. But you will get a little more longevity with software updates and other things sticking with a S9 model. But the S8 models are great

Hey, sorry for the WAY late response. The Dexnor keyboard cover is incredible, BUT the trackpad isn't great. But I just turn it off. I do prefer the dexnor cover personally, I like to lift the tablet up, it's better for my neck. The S9 is great for being portable, s9 plus is a mixture of portable and bigger, it depends on the deals you find and the size you want, sorry for the late response again, I get so many comments it's insane. I took it to Samsung customer service, onsite technicians, etc., and they were baffled as to why it wasn’t working. It wasn’t just my device that had the problem either. Funny enough, I recently used my Tab again with the cover case and noticed the spell check is now working. I guess they finally fixed it with a software update after two years! That issue was going to be a deal-breaker for any future upgrades.

Well for video editing yeah I'd try to get more RAM. Luma is complicated. I'd say MAYBE. Luma does allow you to create proxy files. And I have edited a KZbin video, 4k, on the s9 Plus, with the same processor, but it was freezing up occasionally, even with proxies. But I wasn't using phone footage (it may be more optimized for that) but was using Sony camera footage. So I'd say maybe. Yes for sure but as far as speed and reliability? Maybe. I've been working with luma a lot though sending them projects to help them improve their program. And they have been asking for my footage and been working behind the scenes. So hopefully they keep improving. It's a lot better than it was a year ago

Hmm... that's a tough one! The Fold 6 is already pretty big. Getting a smaller tab that's 11" might be too small to differentiate them. If you get the S9 FE Plus you'll get something larger, but at a price, no amoled. Personally, if I were in your shoes I'd try to get the S9 Plus. Maybe look open box at Best Buy DURING a sale to try to get a great deal. Use my links if you ever buy btw, helps me out, but yeah. It's tough. I'd go for a bigger tablet, and the s9 FE Plus is great, but your expectations may be a little too high coming from the fold and it's great amoled. that's my only worry, the FE Plus is great, but your expectations with that fold may increase. So you may want to save up and get an S9 Plus. Either that or look on ebay for a mint condition S8 Plus. Which could complete things for you. Just less updates software wise. Or just wait for a good deal somehow on that S9 Plus. Hope this helps.

That's a tough question! It can use microsoft office, but you would be using microsoft office online which has less features. Or microsoft office 365 with the android app. Point is, it will substitute if you are okay with some compromises, but it can't run all windows programs, so it depends on what you want it to do

I'm looking for a tablet to fill the gap between my phone (s24+) and my laptop and i think the s9 will do just fine. It's also a much better value compared to the s9+. However i'm doubting about the memory. I've seen the 128gb variant with 8GB of memory for as low as 550, but the 12GB 256GB variant costs 700. Maybe it's a bit of FOMO, but do i really need 12GB of memory? I don't care about the storage and paying 150€ just for 4gb extra memory seems quite expensive.

It depends how many apps and games you plan to install. I've had my 128 base model S9 for a year now and have about 40gbs of apps with 75gbs or so leftover. I also have a 256gb sd card for video and photo storage installed... I had missed out on the free storage upgrade but best buy added the keyboard cover for free and I feel that was more worth it for me than the extra storage.

I had the same exact scenario. I have a laptop. I use a phone. It's a device in-between. You won't need the extra ram. It's fomo. But if you see them close in price maybe get it to feel better. But 99% of people don't need it. The 8GB did everything I needed. Unless your video editing 4k or something don't stress. The storage can be offset with an sd card if you have a lot of media

I'd pick the Galaxy Tab S9 myself. I definitely don't think it will freeze or glitch in two years. If it ever does, just do a factory reset. But we have such good performance in these flagships you don't have to worry, this isn't a mid-range chip. But if you are used to iPhones, this is more comparable with an iPad Pro or something. Yes they benchmark higher, but this is a very premium galaxy tab. I always recommend people try to stick in their ecosystem. But yeah. If you want to switch it's a good option

Depends on the ecosystem that your in and what you want to do on your tablet. The ipad air m2 is considerably more powerful than the s9, but the s9 comes with an s pen in the box which in my opinion is better than the apple pencil, has a 120 hz oled display, and has dex etc.

Forgot to mention that the ipad air m2 only has a 60 hz display. So if you want the device that is more powerful get the m2 ipad, but if that's not your top priority get the s9. The s9 is still really powerful though.

Yep, Yusuk is dead on. I'd say the best place to start is the ecosystem you prefer. Both are great. Yes iPad benchmarks higher with more power, but it is rarely noticeable. The Samsung is the better value with 120hz, an s-pen in the box, and a lot of sales going on. Samsung DeX is great for productivity. iPads can at times have more optimized apps. And a couple of extra professional apps are available. I prefer the Samsung, and the amoled screen too, but everyone is different.

You should watch a lot of my other videos. I do rarely compare to Apple. I spend most of my time comparing to other Android tablets whenever I'm making videos. I talk often about prices of other devices out there. I don't know why in this video I felt the need to talk more about the new m4 iPads. I guess because we just don't have a lot of flagship tablets on Android right now. We have a ton of $500 tablets or less, oneplus pad, pixel tab, but not a lot of $700 tablets.

Samsung should have made a regular smart cover case for the Tab S9, like the iPad smart cover case. I don't like the Tab S9 Folio case. Just make a regular smart cover case. The S10 has the regular smart cover case, no origami shyt.

I just received the Tab S9 as a Christmas gift (i got the maxed out version) and it handles like a dream. A massive upgrade over my old Galaxy Tablet. The Tab S9 is more than capable of handling anything you throw at it. I have a bunch of heavy load games and it handles them all like its nothing thanks to the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 and the 12 GB of RAM that comes included. The best tablet i recieved so far and its a keeper for anyone that is looking for a fast and compact tablet. I highly recommend anyone to get this tablet. Its a must.

My experience has not been all that positive. Coming from a windows/Linux background I am finding the Android system illogical and difficult to use as there are too many symbols, some symbols have multi meaning depending different app, a heavy reliance on the cloud and a lacking cross operating system compatibility as well as Android is made for small screen telephones and has been poorly adapted to the S9 tablet as well as poor multitasking. On top of that they have placed severe user restrictions on what can be accessed which I think is more to do with corporate control of your device rather than security issues. In summery S9 is not a replacement for a laptop.

It's a good difference, but not HUGE. But yeah, the size of the tablet does help with speaker loudness.

That's very hard to say. I think the screen is better on this. The refresh rate is better. BUT the iPad's will have a slight power advantage. I prefer the software on Samsung, and it comes with a pen vs having to buy one separately with apple. It really depends on who you are. My personal recommendation is to stick with the OS you use for your phone, and get a tablet that fits from there. Plenty of options now on iOS and Android.

I've read around for example that the 9fe+! version is not continuous in writing. I know that the Apple system is cleaner than an Android that needs more ram to work

A little bit. But some of that is just things you've heard. Truth is both are similar with RAM imo. The FE just has a slower processor. The processor in the Tab S9 is more than fast enough though. I mean if you're comparing the base iPad to an FE I'd say it's 50/50. I never have issues with the pen not writing even on the FE. I don't have the FE devices just stopping writing due to ram or anything weird. The only slowness is when you have 5+ apps open and go back and forth frequently, maybe the FE will lag if something insane is going on. But it's pretty quick too. I'd just go with a regular Tab S9 series if you are worried, but you can stick with iPad too. Like I said, getting someone to switch it's just hard, so I wouldn't blame you for sticking in your OS

iPads with M processors are a waste of money and a waste of a fast processor. iPadOS is great as a mobile OS, but it's terrible when it comes to productivity. I graduated as an engineering major recently. Every person who went through the engineering program that bought an M series iPad (iPad Pro) and thought that it would replace their laptop because it had a faster chip ended up using the (Windows) computers in the computer lab or buying a "real" computer (Windows or Mac). iPadOS is just too limiting. Android is only slightly better. Samsung Dex is awesome and way better than iPadOS' terrible attempt at multi-tasking. However, in the end, these powerful processors are wasted on weak mobile applications.

I agree based on bargain budget android devices, but not high end. My Note 10+ plus ran 4 years no problem. Actually still does, but I upgraded to S24+. Even my older Galaxy Tabs still run very well, just wanted newer Tab S9. Typing this on my Pixel 7, still like fresh out the box. The idea Android becomes laggy, outdated, etc.. may have some validity in lower end models, but not in all. Oh, I also have iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook Air, AirPods Pro, etc..

Bro why are you subscribed to Android Digest then? Lol. The iPad M4 is great, but there are a lot of things it is lacking compared to a Galaxy tab. To upgrade storage you have to pay like $700 more compared to a Galaxy Tab, that you can just stick a 1 TB sd card in and be good to go. You have to pay extra for the pen too. It's so much more expensive for nearly identical performance on a day to day basis.

Even though it’s equipped with 8gen2, I can’t even upload high resolution photos or videos in Instagram. Plus the amoled display is good but there are lots of motion blurring while watching videos in most of the ott apps even in youtube. I tried everything, disabling battery protection, changing motion smoothness from adaptive to standard & vice versa, still the issue doesn’t stop from appearing. These issues kill all the enthusiasm of enjoying videos. So am I wrong, all androids are same at the end ?

I mean, to be fair, I get why you would want that, but most tablets don't have anything close to dex, or they don't have half the software features this tablet has, but I get it, it would be frustrating for me if I needed DeX on multiple profiles too.
