Looking forward to getting mine. The Redmi Note 3 Pro is likely a better bet for some, with Cyanogen support and a similarly fast SD650 SoC for a similar price, but the Note 4 is also an interesting device with a slightly better hardware design. You are right about MIUI - I never understand why the large Chinese manufacturers Android skins like Xiaomi's MIUIand Huawei's EMUI insist on closing down apps and reducing privileges for seemingly no reason.

check out some benchmarks, the helio x20 in the note 4 destroys the Sd 650 in the note 3 pro in multicore performance, it has a slightly better single core performance depending on the benchmark and its gpu is slightly more Powerful (0.5-1fps difference in most benchmarks,nothing important).The helio x20 is also a 20mm arm while the sd650 is a 28mm one. So the note 4 will outperform the note 3 pro in every aspect and it has a much better multicore performance. You are right though about the rom support but very few people are going to flash a custom rom on their brand new phone, it is too risky. So in conclusion the note 4 is more powerful and it is definitely worth the extra money, if you have a note 3 pro you shouldn't even think of upgrading, the note 4 is slightly better than the note 3 and it is aimed for the people who are willing to pay some extra money for some premium features.

it's good for keeping rogue apps from eating away the battery. I keep the battery savers all turned on, and set my vital apps to autostart in the security app so i won't lose any new notifications

Glen Barnett the way AH mentioned it seems so not user friendly, when you can simply open security/permission/autostart. i am time to time move to cyanogen or aosp based and in fact this feature of xiaomi is what I miss, automatically disable rogue app to autostart and manually enable what you want.

Actually, you can easily get the notification from background apps in miui by going to Security-Permissions-Autostart and just move the slider to make the application run in the background. It's very useful feature, so you can easily handle process from any apps that you want, either it must active in the background process or not. very useful for battery conservation and level of distraction that you want.

Yazan Mudallal What are you talking about? I don't understand what you are saying... The Redmi Note 4 has fast charge (MediaTek PumpExpress 2.0) but it does not have USB Type C connection port. The power brick in the box is not a fast charger, so you would have to buy your own if you wanted it.
