@mambomeek well, friend, it used to be in the 1990s that in most places, you could get 3 or 4 games a week on regular broadcast TV, and there was 1 or more games almost every night on basic cable. It's frustratingly difficult to just turn on a TV and get a game today. It's been a couple years since I watched a game on TV (I go to minor league games in my city quite a few times a season). I used to watch 50+ full MLB games a season. Now, it's just really difficult to watch games.

@@scipio7 yeh, I have TNT sport and it's kinda like "you get what you get" in terms of what teams they show, they do air the full series though which is good I suppose, most games being on in the early hours of the morning for us is difficult too. As a Braves fan I've seen many people talking about the "tbs days", sounds like that was a good time to be a fan.

@ I was at a game in 97 and he was playing right field in the old Fulton county stadium. He made an incredible diving catch where he slid over the tops of the bullpen mounds with a reckless abandon. He only had 4 seasons above the league average in his entire career. Andruw had 11 seasons at or over 100. Ozzie's BA was .08 points higher than Andruw, but his OBP was the exact same as Andruw, .337. I won't even bring up HRs, RBIs, and OPS because they hit a different spots in the line up and were different style hitters. But they are both the best to ever play their position. The Hall of Fame voters need to get their heads out of their asses with Andruw Jones. What the hell are they thinking? Has everyone actually looked at the stats of some of the players who were elected? It's so arbitrary. Why was great defense enough for a player like Ozzie Smith to get voted in and yet here Amdruw sits 8 years on the ballot. The difference is Andruw was one of the best offensive players in baseball during his prime. For the 10 years in a row he won 10 gold gloves he trailed only Bonds and A-Rod in bwar. He hit more home runs in one of his average years than Ozzie did in his career. As good as Ozzie was defensively at short Andruw was better in Center. If defense was enough for players like Ozzie with Andruw we're talking literally the greatest defensive outfielder ever. Interestingly enough they had the exact same OBP but other than that Andruw was far and away better offensively, were talking 434 Home runs here. Chipper made a great point when he said the other voters need to think about this if it was a player who played for the yankees for 15 years and had 10 gold gloves, 434 HR's and andruws stats would he still be sitting on the ballot? Hell no. There are 6 outfielders who have ever won 10 gold gloves and 5 are in the Hall of Fame, Griffey Jr., Musual, Clemente, Willie Mays and now Ichiro. Andruw is the 6th.
