With the turbo at 10.000 feet it would be fast at 75% power! Ohh , and another point! The speed improvement comes from the shorter wing span. But that is good from sea lever to about 8000 feet or so. The stock longer wing would increase climb performance but make it slower at cruise. Above 8k the climb would not only be better but speeds would be faster than the clipped wing!!! Remember the 10.000 ' ??? It would outrun the shorter wing!!!!

@deanfowlkes2 ай бұрын
If the MTOW is 600 kg, it would be considered an Experimental Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) in the US. To be considered an Ultralight in the US, the weight limit, fuel, and airspeed restrictions would be 115 kg, 18 liters and 101 km/hr. However, current LSA regulations do not allow for airspeeds in excess of 222 km/hr, retractable landing gear, nor props that are adjustable in flight.

If trying to cross from Brasil to Europe, it may be (overall) longer but safer to fly from Joao Pessoa (most-eastern large airport) to Ascension Island (it is around 1240 nm, day 1), then from there to Liberia (860 nm, day 2), from Liberia to Canari Islands (1350 nm, day 3), then from there to Spain or even France (day 4). However, because of long stretches of ocean (Brasil to Ascension, and from Ascension to Liberia), I would do that only with some serious survival gear (raft, some emergency supplies etc) which would not really let me fly with someone but rather alone.

That was about 6,000 nautical miles each way, ie a total of 12,000 nautical miles, without any squawks. And you think that the Risen is a toy? It was never intended to carry you, your spouse, 6 children, 2 dogs and a week’s camping gear across the USA. It was designed to extract the maximum performance from EASA regulations which required a maximum stalling speed of 35 Knots and maximum take off weight of 472.5 kg. Beautiful airplane! What is the whining high pitched sound the airplane is making? I think that could drive you nuts on a long flight.
@deanfowlkes2 ай бұрын
Another poster said it was the fuel pump. Get some high-quality noise canceling headsets. Cheap headsets and/or a cheap radio will produce a similar high pitched whine regardless what aircraft you fly (or car you drive for that matter). This can be caused by the alternator spinning. It is especially prevalent in turbocharged and supercharged engines since you have more metal parts spinning at high rates of speed. A good headset is essential regardless, for the sake of protecting your hearing.

@@andreacolomboairphotographer - In the US, that would not be a valid excuse. Displaced thresholds are used in areas where obstacle clearance may be an issue. Displaced thresholds are used to keep the obstacles well below the aircraft’s glide plane. Landing on the displaced threshold may cause a CFIT issue (crash), making the stress on the brakes a moot point. Or, it may cause higher stress on the landing gear as the pilot increases the descent angle (dives) toward the runway.

@@andreacolomboairphotographer - In the US, current Sport Pilot Certification regulations would not allow a Sport Pilot to fly this as Pilot in Command. You would need a Private Pilot Certificate or higher.
@andreacolomboairphotographer2 ай бұрын
@@deanfowlkes In Italy, in theory, you could fly it after 16 hours of flight. With 30 as pilot in command, you can theoretically carry a passenger. Then it is up to the intelligence of the pilot to understand that he should have a little more experience... even if it is still not one of the most demanding airplanes.
@deanfowlkes2 ай бұрын
@@andreacolomboairphotographer - Thank you for that information. Each country is different with different rules. That is why I specified the US. Current regulations removed this aircraft as an option for Sport Pilots in the US. There is a recommendation to change the current regulations for Sport Pilots that has not been approved yet. If approved, the new rules may make it only necessary to acquire an endorsement for the retractable gear from a Certificated Flight Instructor. That can be done in as little as two hours of flight time (similar to a Private Pilot).

The performance is more than enough, but like many sales people, you have an annoying habit of not being up front with the price, a most important spec, I read it from the comments below is around $300 US. You seems to forget who ever buy it have to write the cheque. This airplane is too expensive, and will not sell well, the Rotax engine did not help at all. A big company , need lots of profits to pay for their overheads. The price of the Rotax make it even more unaffordable. There are many converted (100-150HP) engines nowadays for under $10. You are not the only company that tunnel visioned on performance, when the real difficulty is cost.
@andreacolomboairphotographer Жыл бұрын
you might be right, but first of all i'm not a salesman....i just try to show how an airplane flies. I have nothing to do with the company and that's why I don't want to talk about the price which is absolutely in line (indeed perhaps even lower considering the performance) of the competitors ... always talking about the 915.
