As a Chinese-American and a veteran, I would like to have a conversation about this. I was an FMF Corpsman in the United States Navy, and I have been an RN, ever since I left the military. Even through the pandemic. However, I believe China's Fentanyl is far worse than Covid. Let's be honest about it being a pandemic in and of itself. And it isn't just drug users coming into the ER; but horrible incidents like kids coming across a contaminated surface, like at a playground or public park. It must be addressed. And we have to stop blaming the victims for what China is at a state-level doing intentionally to destabilize other countries. In particular the United States. ps. I will gladly discuss with anyone, as to why my parents fled from China to America. It's the major reason why I enlisted.

Doctor singer was absolutely fantastic loud and clear I don't know how it could be made any louder or any clear this man should be the spokesman for taking care of these criminals that are trying to destroy our people and every single one of them and some of us veterans needs the pain medication and we're not abusers we're not the ones that are selling the drugs are taking the drugs and overdosing we were the ones that were injured by our military service and we are in horrible pain and we need something to at least relieved that for a short time so that at least we can get up and go to the bathroom or make ourselves something to eat and and maybe do the laundry but you know some of us have been injured so badly that were in so much Agony that we don't even have a life anymore and we're not taking the drugs because we want to get high we're not taking the drugs because we don't have anything else to do because of the recreational thing it's so that we can actually get up and partially function to some degree because the pain is so intense some veterans need this medication and we don't need people out there trying to lace it with us other garbage so that it kills people what's wrong with all you people that you can understand simplicity I'm so sick of these people with their highfalutin attitudes that think that you know all drugs are bad no all drugs are not bad some drugs are very useful and they have a purpose that's why we have Physicians that can diagnose people with whatever condition they are to try to help somebody it's the people that are weak-minded that go ahead and abused these things but when you're an injured veteran and you've been promised to be taken care of by the VA Hospital you trust the doctor to be able to prescribe something for you that will help you at least function to some limited degree it's not making a Superman we're not jumping off a building we're not going roller skating bike riding parasailing we're not jumping out of planes anymore the point is we need some help and we don't need these criminals trying to destroy the help that we are asked Ali meeting I'm so sick of these people trying to destroy everything that's good about us who served our country and unfortunately got injured

My daughter is 100% disabled from her 7 yrs in the military & she is UNABLE to get adequate pain relief, because the VA has an INTOLERANCE toward prescribing opioids. Over the counter (OTC) drugs DO NOT help many, many veterans, but the VA (a/k/a "government") does not seem to care. I'm a semi-retired R.N., & my 35 y/o disabled veteran daughter lives w/ me & her father. We give her emotional & physical support, & she even has an emotional support dog. She is not allowed opioids. The V.A. is more concerned, IMHO, about helping a relatively small number of veterans suffering from opioid "addiction," than they are in helping ALL veterans who suffer moderate & severe pain are often left to suffer on their own. They have difficulty even getting an appointment to see a doctor, & then are given prescriptions for antidepressants, anti-anxiety, anti-seizure, & other meds that keep them in a constant mental fog & does NOTHING for the pain they suffer. It's both sad & tragic. Those who are NOT addicted are having to suffer also for those who are addicted. The healthcare organizations in this & other countries are afraid to lose their licenses or to be handcuffed & hauled into the court system that leads to imprisonment. I hope this committee doesn't go overboard & make it even more difficult for patients to have quality of life. For that, I am so very sorry. This is a difficult subject for the millions of people who are impacted by a fearful healthcare industry.
