After a decade since touring together, I catch up with an old friend in Andy Black of Black Veil Brides. We get into the band’s latest studio release, The Phantom Tomorrow, and talk about the process of creating this album over the last year. Andy even shares some insight & spoilers into BVB’s followup to this record.
We take it back to our tour together in 2011, and catch up on how our lives have changed since then. Andy shares stories of being spit at on stage, and almost inciting a riot by inviting the crowd to throw things at the band (much to the dismay of Zakk Wylde & Black Label Society). Andy also gives some insight to his infamous Golden Gods speech in 2013.
Andy opens up about growing up as an outcast in Ohio, and the challenges of looking different from the other people in his school. We talk BVB’s current tour with In This Moment, and the possibility of hearing Meet Me in the Fire performed with Maria Brink. I had never listened to their music but knew the band name then last December when I was buying tickets to see Ice Nine Kills and saw BVB was one of the 3 I looked them up, and I really enjoyed their music, not my favorite thing or the best but pretty fun, and I just saw them live last Saturday as part of the Trinity Of Terror tour and they were a ton of fun Live, they put on a really good show. I don't care how they dress and don't know why so many do, the only thing that matters is the music is great.

Lonny is the fan who made it big. His channel on YT is a must to subscribe to and he's such a nice guy. He really cares about how interactive he and the band are on social media. He's an icon in the making and as an awesome bassist he should be on your channel. Johnny and Lonny has a great ring to it 😂

I'm excited to watch this episode. Drinks With Johnny previously had Jake Pitts as a guest so having Andy Biersack on reignites my hope that BVB will tour with A7X again. 🤘😃🖤 Also Andy is a great talker. Whenever he does interviews he always comes off as an intelligent individual who is passionate about everything he does rather it be music, creating artistic endeavors like The Phantom Tomorrow world and characters, or acting.
