My Dad ( who looked just like Andy and walked like him- same mannerisms) always had this show on with reruns when he got older and we all loved the show. Since Dad died in 2020 at 90 yrs old I can not bring myself to watch it. I will one day soon, when I am ready for a good cry.

I always loved seeing Clint always wanting to share his sandwich with someone. He he reminds me of my younger brother when he was that age. ❤ Ron Howard’s directing abilities are so spot on. I’m glad he realized. that directing was the way to go for him!

Thank you for sharing this! I’m 47, and have been watching this show since I can remember. My grandparents watched it, and my dad and I watched it together. My mom wasn’t a fan.😁 Now, my son and I watch it almost daily. It’s such a magical thing about it, you can watch every episode so many times and it’s still so amazing. You can kick back after a long stressful day, and the cares just melt away as you take a trip to the small town of Mayberry.

Love this, even better with the inclusion of Clint and yourself ! I also like the two guys with the view camera at 6:42, looks like they were shooting 4x5 plates possibly of Rance and Clint..wonder where those images are now?

Thanks so much for sharing, Clint! I love to see home movies and anything related to The Andy Griffith Show. I also can appreciate your feelings about your parents. But I gotta tell you something: My parents were great too. My dad worked for the Postal Service as a letter carrier/clerk, and Mom was a great homemaker and schoolteacher. It's a great advantage to have good parents, and it is a shame that many kids don't have a good mom and dad. Looking at this footage, I see Ellen Corby is right there on her mark, and the footage of her is from "Barney's First Car, where Ellen plays a real shyster! Grandma Walton! I've also seen her in Get Smart and The Addams Family, where she plays Lurch's crazy mother. I love the scenes shot at the lake, too. Thank you for sharing, and much respect to you and Ron.

I'm 55 and watch it every night. It's just a good wholesome show that makes you feel good and has stood the test of time. I prefer the black & white episodes over the color, to be honest.

Color episodes feel like a different show, but there are some good ones.

This show was before my time and never got big into it, but I love the sweetness and innocence of it. I remember Jackie Gleason once said something like "you have to have a live audience for a show, it won't work otherwise".... apparently he never saw this show.

Its amazing how this footage is in color. And the show was filmed in black and white. Also ,its sad that in 1976,the entire 40 acre Desilu backlot ,where this and so many other shows were filmed,was bulldozed to make way for office buildings!

"Mom wasn't the greatest of cooks. We ate a lot of canned vegetables. And canned vegetables are probably not the most nutritious food." WHAT? Has to be much more nutritious than processed ready made foods.
@joe-vz6hx5 күн бұрын
Not that it's relevant to the topic, but....no, not really, esp as "processed foods" is extremely vague. They vary widely.
