No such thing as race. Survey says: context matters. Referring to oneself by color in this context means you are connecting color with a certain creed of people, as is common for shorthand heuristics and human psychology. There are two sub-races, male and female, of one race, homo sapien the conscious Sapien species. I'm sort of equating race to species here because to me they are basically the same. What you replied with was an awful 'gotcha' moment. In this context, you are obviously referring to your race. Either way, you had no reason to publicly state your creed besides making your own comment seem more credible somehow? Or is it like saying, "I'm not white, so my opinion matters"?
