The anticipation has been huge and they have been a long time coming, but we can officially announce that Andy James' 2011 acclaimed solo album backing tracks are now exclusively available to download at JTC.
Since he released his incredible self titled 3rd solo record, Andy has been inundated with requests for the backing tracks to be released. This download includes the backings for Angel Of Darkness, The Storm, What Lies Beneath, War March and Bullet In The Head. And we wouldn't be JTC if there wasn't TAB involved, so you get all 65 pages of TAB for each of these tracks too. Yep, 65!!
On top of that, there are two exclusive live video recordings included of Andy performing full length versions of Bullet Through The Head and War March, aimed to help you analyse just how to play those tasty metal riffs.
For Andy James fans this is a no-brainer and for those of you that haven't yet checked Andy out and who like your tracks of metal proportion then this is perfect for you. There are more tasty metal licks, riffs and techniques in this album than you could ever imagine! It's time to learn from the master.

I totally agree with the G3 tour having AJ on it. His style surpasses Steve and Joe though. Kind of like when Guthrie joined them. It was phenomenal how Steve and Joe had total command of the instrument, then Guthrie comes out and it's like God came to play. At 45yo, it's amazing to me to see how players have progressed, as well as how standards of main stream music have turned to crap.

It's absolutely amazing to see Andy play! Some people may think he is emotionless because he doesn't do to much of those weird faces guitar players use to make, but believe me, if you were to play something like this masterpiece, you would be so concentrated that those faces would be almost impossible to make! However... if we look closely, Andy does something pretty astonishing. By looking at him during the entire video instead of the guitar you'll be able to see his jaw muscle tightening with the music. Even his headbang is expressive... This tells me that the guitar player is, not only aware of what he's doing but that he is completely conscious of the song, what is being played and what comes next. This guy is phenomenal!

Most Englishmen are of Norse descent. That's due to Wallace taking over England. It's where the blue-eyed blonde haired Englishmen come from and most people in England carry the recessive gene for blue eyes and blonde hair. Us norsemen were born with guitars in hand, obviously.

Same reason pop is popular while other songs go under the radar. Have you ever seen the Olympic comparison. There are people who would kill it but have no interest in the Olympics. Same here.... just because someone is passionate doesn't mean they make the "top 50" that anyone seems to care about. That's why the indie scene never dies. In any industry.

He is using many effects to create the tone. Drive Pedal, Compression Pedal, Delay Pedal, Reverb, Maybe using very very minimal Chorus aswell, but not enough for us to hear, just enough to effect the EQ. You might want to check out what amp/Pick-ups he is using as that effects the tone aswell. Pedals can be expensive so I use a Line 6 POD 2.0 & Boss GT-8 multi effects processors. I can get most tones by using one or the other. I use an Ibanez PGM for most of my metal stuff. & I use a Fender strat for a more lighter tone. I have put in custom pickups for both guitars to give me better sustain. nothing worse than stock-pickups struggling.

from what i have heard from one of his DVD tutorial video, having blues his primary influence in which the left hand is slanted towards the body and basically where the pinky is rarely used since that finger is actually where the slider is placed, allowed him to play in that particular manner.

+XDX "i know personal 3 guitarist who are better than any famous guitar player" I actually lol'd. I want whatever you are smoking, my friend, 'cause that statement is just plain retarded. I highly doubt that any of your "personal 3 guitarist " could outplay even someone like Stevie Ray. This is the internet; proof or it did not happen, champ. "to write a song dont make you the best guitar player" so you can actually be the "best guitar player" without writing a single song? Are you even reading what you are posting? How can you be the best when your fanbase is the local Guitar Center or a small group of friends. The best to YOU, maybe, and that would be fair to say. But to just say "best" is moronic. No one single player is the absolute "best". And you should probably listen to LTE before you shit on Petrucci. If you were truly familiar with him, you wouldn't be saying he is a rookie compared to Andy James. Two different playing styles and genres of music. You wouldn't compare Alvin Lee to Johnny Winter. Really you just sound like a jealous, casual guitar player who bought a $700 guitar 15 years ago and never learned past Smoke on the Water chord progressions.

Dearest Andy James, I'm your loyal fan. I like this song very much! And I can play this song. I'd like to ask you, does the creation of this song have anything to do with the game? I saw a game video that used this song as background music and introduced it as a GMV.

It's a bit of a mystery... this Tab was done for us by Levi and Andy, and they're sure it's correct. Obviously it's causing problems, so maybe Andy has changed the way he plays some of it since he did the studio version. We're going to fix the Tab so the fingerings are exactly the same as Andy plays on the video, and then everyone who bought the package can then download the new Tab for free. We'll let you know when it's ready... very soon!

I know this is a long time ago but did this ever happen? I bought this tab a few years ago and have always wanted to play this like Andy does in the video.

Wenn man Andy spielen sieht dann könnte man denken er macht nur seinen Job. Man sieht keine Leidenschaft beim Spielen ABER wer so spielt liebt was er tut. Absolut fantastische Riffs. Ein Gigant an der Gitarre mit Potential zur Legende!!! I'm in fcking Love with this Song!!!

No,, its not sad that these type of guitarists. are underrated at all... This type of playing isnt catchy at all.. It aint ever gonna be a hit... It just aint catchy at all... Its very hard to play mumbel jumble that aint catchy or even melodic in any way, so it aint gonna get get these guys anywhere other than respected by other greats to some extent... It will stay underrated until they write hits that the masses will bop their heads to somehow.... Its like comparing your local highschool to Harvard... The party will always feel better in highschool....
