The biggest difference is the depth of field and also the frame rate change. Probably shooting at 30fps or 60 fps as opposed to 24 fps, which is what the majority if not all of motion pictures are shot at.

Not a big video expert but isn’t something off with the quality of this video? Not the content quality bc it’s Andy, but like something is off and I can’t quite put my finger on it 🧐 edit: just saw in the description that this was captured on Google Pixel 3! Interesting way to work a sponsorship in... hm.

Today my sister and I made this recipe for our thanksgiving turkey and it was honestly delicious. Our turkey was larger at 17lbs but we just ended up adding extra ingredients as far as the basting sauce went. We also added some lemon peels as well. The skin was dark and crispy and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it tasted, I was woried the flavors wouldnt come through but they really did and all of my family enjoyed it. We'll most likely be doing this turkey again next year, so thank you Andy for the delicious recipe share!

VoZe go by temperature not by time. Everyone has different ovens and turkeys and environment. Do whatever the manufacture recommends but then check the temp every 10:15 minutes and pull it once it reaches a temp you like. I leave mine until 155-160 in both thigh and breast.

I would love to hear about the process used to decide which video/cook was stuck with the Pixel promotion. Were they banking on Andy being cute and sassy enough to distract from the quality of the video, did he draw the short straw or did Google specifically pay for Thanksgiving content to get in the faces of people during the holidays?

Ended up making this. It got rave reviews from everyone. When cooked properly (taken out at 150° and left to rest for an hour) its extremely tender. The glaze is very fragrant and strong when cooking but mellows to a wonderful sweetness on the turkey and doesn't get in the way of the natural flavor. Definitely a keeper.

I always do a wet brine. The turkey is so much juicer and had so much more flavor. I use one of those big, orange drink coolers (Igloo brand, I believe) which is insulated so it keeps the bird safely cool and has a spout for easy draining.
@aemmerich
@aemmerich 6 жыл бұрын
@@SleepStarvedNerd I think a dry brine might take a bit longer than a wet brine, but the dry salt will eventually work its way into the meat regardless. I think you do get more moisture absorbed into the bird with a wet brine, but I don't know that that definitely translates into a more tender, juicier finished product. The benefit of drier skin giving you a better crisp in the oven is pretty enticing, but can it offset the (presumably) lower moisture content of the meat? I'd also be curious to know if there's a significant difference in cook time between the two methods.

I made this for 2020 Thanksgiving. Its so good! I didnt have sherry vinegar so I used white vinegar instead and still tasted great. Instead of having the rosemary in the glaze, I put dried rosemary, thyme and bay leave infused butter under the skin and continued with the glaze as normal. I did not have to cook my thawed turkey for 3 hours though. After 1 hour and 15 minutes it was over 180°f. I did cook it at 350 instead of 300. I used the water and drippings at the bottom to make gravy as well. Delicious.

What is with the colour grading today?? This seems so off... The Usual BA is clean and white... The studio light... Is off putting.... Maybe you guys are trying something different... But just giving an honest feedback here... And Andy IS THE MAN! Edit : it's a phone 🤦‍♂️ and a pixel 3 at that, didn't expect this from it though.

Is it me or is there something different about the video quality? The lighting? The colour grading? Did they use a different camera?There's something off...I just can't pinpoint what it is. That being said, great content as usual.

You could try introducing a "Friendsgiving" it's something that some people here do if they live far away from family and can't get together. It could honestly be kind of cute if you live somewhere where you don't do Thanksgiving but you want to get together have a Turkey dinner and just like be thankful for your friendship together? Then you can send everyone home with leftovers because trust me as great as a leftover sandwich is it takes two days of that before you're desprate for something else.
