i think you unintentionally just broke down the writing process of acoustic music. whenever i come up with a melody or a riff that I think is "correct," i start to nod my head like andy does. it's like...part of your brain recognizes that what you are playing is "right" and then you start to have a "yes that is correct" response.

I love coming back to Andy's videos every once in a while, just so I can see a true master of the craft. You can see the passion on his face when he plays... And that makes him a better artist than anyone else out there.

like how the hell can you dislike this? This is not scene, this is not pretentious, he's not a sell-out, this is just a talented guy playing his instrument. Maybe acoustic music isn't your cup of tea, but for heaven's sake respect the shitload of effort and work he's put into practicing so that he's become able to play this kind of stuff so fluently and effortlessly.

My thought is, that he is conveying a dearly held memory. You learn the chords, how to play the insrtument, then the accents he portrays are the high points of the memory. It is more than skill, he is conveying something near and dear to his heart, which only a skilled artist can portray. Take it and apply it to your memories... but keep in mind this is something extremely personal portrayed by an incredible musician.

Hey man this is a song that you can get to play in 3 weeks much. Is not that the piece is hard, because difficulty has nothing to do with complexity, everything is based on the way you study. You dont have to study a lot, but you have to use your brain a lot to feel that micro progress in your work. Blessings from Costa Rica.

@Gazlow That is not a fair statement. i am a drummer. and i take offence to that. and so would my friends who are drummers. this is amazing and it does not matter if you are a drummer or a clarinet player or trumpet player, this is art, in its own way. so If you dont mind next time think about what other people who play other instrument think. and i bet your not a drummer anyway. so you have no right to post a comment of this nature.

Once I ran across Andy and listened to just one song, I had a new addiction. Just fantastic! The first song of his I heard was Drifting which is an original song of his and the first song he ever wrote. Don't quote me 100% on this but I believe he was 17, or perhaps 19 years old. Anyway, just soulful joy to listen to and equally fun to watch him play. Just wonderful.
