i think you unintentionally just broke down the writing process of acoustic music. whenever i come up with a melody or a riff that I think is "correct," i start to nod my head like andy does. it's like...part of your brain recognizes that what you are playing is "right" and then you start to have a "yes that is correct" response.

My thought is, that he is conveying a dearly held memory. You learn the chords, how to play the insrtument, then the accents he portrays are the high points of the memory. It is more than skill, he is conveying something near and dear to his heart, which only a skilled artist can portray. Take it and apply it to your memories... but keep in mind this is something extremely personal portrayed by an incredible musician.

Hey man this is a song that you can get to play in 3 weeks much. Is not that the piece is hard, because difficulty has nothing to do with complexity, everything is based on the way you study. Once I ran across Andy and listened to just one song, I had a new addiction. Just fantastic! The first song of his I heard was Drifting which is an original song of his and the first song he ever wrote. Don't quote me 100% on this but I believe he was 17, or perhaps 19 years old. Anyway, just soulful joy to listen to and equally fun to watch him play. Just wonderful.
