Hopefully you come back because it brings a level of peace to you. Its wildly talented but more importantly it musically seems to express (at least to me) a level of acceptance and peace, and wanting to show growth.....to whom one has become and who is proud of it. If you visit because you're struggling with an event, I would encourage you almost the same, view re-viewing this bit as a comfort....and hopefully one day will bring peace :)

I am so glad I was able to show my father this song before he died. He got diagnosed with cancer and after a lot of fighting he beat it but it came back and took him. However before all that, I showed him this song in hopes that in some way he would understand through the melodic tone and notes here-in that he would understand how I felt about him. He listened and I have no doubt he understood the love I felt for him. Thanks Andy, from the bottom of my heart, for helping me translate. And now that he is gone, this song carries more beauty than any other tune. Take care friend.

On my dad's last night, he was lying in pain in his hospital bed. I placed my headphone on his ears. On the playlist was Andy McKee then we saw his anguishing face suddenly calmed down. For about 30 minutes he listened to Andy's music then he shooked his head asking to take the headphone off. It was in the middle of this song when he stopped. This was the last song he heard. I can't find the words to continue this story but thank you for your song Andy.

This is what music is supposed to be. Music is not something that you do or make to get money or get famous or anything like that. Music is what we create to express our inner emotions and feelings in a beautiful way. This song is one of the few songs that make me think, "Wow. He knows how to make true music." There are so many great artist out there, Andy McKee is one of them. His songs are so diverse, that you may not like all of them, but I guarantee you will love some them. This type of music will never be showcased on TV or radio ( mainstream media ), because it is truth in musical form. It draws the emotion out of you, while the best mainstream has ever been able to do is once in a while play a song you can .......kinda...identify with. These songs don't need a name, they are Truth.

Just recently moved out for the first time a few states away from my father. Only real person thats always cared and did for me my whole life and just so hard to be out here doing this all on my own for once. Andy Mckee i really hadn't heard much of you before today but i must say your are a amazing guitarist and I hope you keep writing and maybe one day come to TN to do a show so i could thank you in person for putting whats been on my mind the past month in perspective

This is one of those "perfect" compositions. The flow and emotion conveyed are clear and universal imo. Fav for sure

This song is absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful. Andy McKee is a genius par excellence, and his guitar skills and creativity sweep me of my feet every time. I find it incredible disappointing that there are some here who would notice his baldness, instead of the incomparable ingenuity he has brought to the world of music. There's okay music, then there's truthful music. There are mediocre people dissing others, and then there are unrivalled talents like andy who steal your heart.

I first listened to this song when I was 15 and sounded cool. My father passed away last year and since then it sounds beautiful. Thanks for helping me make it thorough the emotions of grief.

I cried from hearing this. I can tell all the sad moments, all the happy moments, and the reverence associated with his father just through his melodic tones. It's amazing.

The power of Andy’s music is you don’t need words to feel all the emotion and message from this song. Hello 2021 almost 2022. Love this.

It's a special thing to be able to use a gift like this for one's father who may have transmitted the talent to him. Hopefully it was done while his father could still appreciate the gift.

Your music is so beautiful. I absolutely love it. Your are soooo talented! Can't believe anyone would give a thumbs down. They surely don't have any music ability to not appreciate your talent.
