This melody took me roughly 16-17 years to perfect and play on my own. I'm so glad I learned this but I think the best thing I've gained from learning this song is how much it has helped unlock things about my style that I didn't even know was possible until someone else had pointed it out. This song never gets old!

Most beautiful song ever on guitar. It took me a year to just cover it, and over a year period, I cannot count how many times I came back to this one. Still a long long way to go to cover your groove. Great song, great lesson here Andy.

I consider Ebon Coast to be the most beautiful song in this finger style, I see a lot of feeling involved in each note. One of my life dreams is to be able to play this song as soon as I can find some time at work, which currently takes up my entire day. One day I will be able to do it 🙏🏻 and I am grateful to have this video here to help me when the time comes.

Most of these brilliant players seem that way. Like Don Ross, Andy, Tommy Emmanuel..all of them seem approachable and WAY more modest than their talent should allow...his real talent is managing to be a fucking legendary player and still not have a Kanye West ego.

9 months in. Can play the whole song through, but I’m buzzing frets like a crazy person and I’m still struggling to pull off the more complicated chords in time -_-
@sc72446 жыл бұрын
RedeemedWhispers That's my issue, I just started a few days ago though. Got through the intro and most of the verse already, but that tricky barre chord is slowing me down a little. I'll get it, just need to keep playin. How'd you find the tapping part? I haven't gotten therr yet but it looks pretty intense aha
@RedeemedWhispers6 жыл бұрын
Stephen the tapping part is a lot of fun to play. Accuracy and getting the notes to sound out were my biggest problems. Playing in standard tuning on a semi-acoustic, and it doesn’t have the same response as a baritone guitar (not to mention it takes its toll on your fingers). Apart from that it still sounds really good. It’s all muscle memory though. If it seems intimidating, just learn the left hand, then when the left is second nature, introduce the right hand. Then the more you play it, the more accurate and in time you’ll become.

Awesome instructional video that I'll likely watch over and over again - why did the editor have to use such a harsh noise gate though? The silence / ambient tone cutting in and out sporadically defeats its purpose, and becomes a tad distracting. :/ Either way though, a great tutorial! :)
