Way to go Katelyn❤! Stop by a market and fall in love with beautiful in season mango, then bring them home, find a recipe, and then cook them up. So the recipe was not tried and true, we all got to learn something. We even got to learn a fancy way to present mango. Thanks to both of you. REQUEST I would love to see Andy walk Katelyn through her favorite gnocchi dish.

3am in NYC. Loving watch Katelyn take charge of her dish. Nicely done ! Beautiful rose! Thanks for the ‘cups’ and ‘teaspoon’ measurements. (I’m ok with seemingly overcooked rice in dessert. Since I use reheated leftover rice in my rice pud, it’s usually overcooked). Cheers! 🥂 BTW - there’s a pasta with anchovies, and toasted breadcrumbs, then another with tomatoes too. Not sure what they’re called but they are delicious.

8:35 Cool tip with the tea towel - pot holder - Katelyn! I'm over 65 and I've never twirled a tea towel to make it easier to surround a hot pot or pan! Saw you do that and it was a lightbulb moment! No more sauce soaked, pan juice bespoiled tea towels in my kitchen from now on!! (And yes, I have several silicone and cloth oven mits - but a tea towel is so much more convenient and you don't have to go digging around to find it)

Loved the cooking and result Katelyn. When we home cooks tackle a recipe for the first time, we need to trust in the recipe and that is exactly what you did with a very good result. We then make some notes on what we would like to try differently next time based on our experience and we refine as we go and generally end up with an excellent result... so Bravo 🥰. I also have to note that even with your lower level knife skills, there was nowhere near as much faffing around with the mango🤣. Great channel, thank you!

We put pandan leaves in the sticky rice. Scent and taste is just good.

When Andy explained the Rice Pudding recipe I started salivating like one of Pavlov's dogs! Can you do a video tutorial of a Proper Rice Pudding and show what you mean by the crust? It was always that bit we used to fight over. It seems to be one of those brilliant Puddings that now gets overlooked. Bring it back!

I really appreciated this! Watching you do this Caitlyn has spurred me to attempt it! I love mangoes and remember so fondly my time in Oz buying them trays at a time; as well as the excellent coconut rice one could get. In the rural podunk area I live in now in the US, no such choice here on any menus.

That looked very yum! Up here in the cold north of scandinavia, we usually have 2 versions of mango; very underripe or very overripe, so looking forward to learn more about different sorts

Fantastic video, chefs, thank you! I do my aglio olio with anchovies too, I love it. Also, in the last two to three minutes of the pasta boiling I chuck in some roughly chopped cabbage leaves and toss it all in the garlicky anchovy oil. It's probably my number one comfort food, I love it so much.

I bought a mandoline last month after watching your videos for a couple of years... 2 weeks ago I was lazy, trying to cut tomatoes for the kids' school lunch and didn't use the guard... sliced a couple of millimetres off my index finger! Lesson learnt! :D

In Florida I grow Glenn, Valencia and Nam Doc Mai cv of Mango. The smaller, yellow Nams are especially popular with filipino friends. Try growing Allspice, Star anise and Capers as ornamental yard plants. I've grown them in both FL and southern Cal. BTW, Tickets for the Firestone Grand Prix in St Pete are going on sale Dec 13. This is an interesting road course thru the city and much better than Long Beach.

We have always done 1 cup rice to 2 cups water. Bring to boil and immediately turn to low.

Rice pudding was a classic cheap dessert at home! My parents made it with rice, milk, butter, sugar, vanilla, maybe cinnamon? But definitely loaded with nutmeg on top so it gets captured in the crispy top!

Hey guys. A million years ago there was a brilliant restaurant in Harris Street in Sydney. Wayne Bowles (Bowles veal glacé) was the chef. It was two or three courses. Limited seating. Fixed menu, no choice (and in those days no dietary prefs). I went every month, changed every two weeks. Still my all time favourite restaurant. Not sure where Wayne is these days.

Kensington pride are also known as Bowen or Bowen Special; originally cultivated in Bowen, hence the names. They also grow them in the NT & probably other places now.

Good morning from Stuttgart Germany. Originally from Melbourne, on Sundays my mum would also make baked rice for dessert. The crusty top was very tasty. I miss mangoes from Oz, not common in Germany.

Andy you need to try sweet sticky rice with sangkaya, steamed Thai custard made with duck eggs. Or Patong Ko with sangkaya baitoey (runny more pandan-y version of the sangkaya that goes with the sticky rice

Great video. I thought Babe did great on this. I found the rating a bit harsh given how fast Andy shovel that in. Maybe rating should be adjusted to categories. Rating for home cookery vs rating for a diner va rating in a nice resto. This would have been at least a 7 for home, 5 for diner and less for resto. It would also help us figure out the gauge at our end based on our level of cooking. Just a suggestion. Your kitchen yr rules.

Your chopping skills are your chopping skills - they only improve with time and practice. I'm the main cook in my house, and I think a pretty good one, but I'm not a fast chopper by any means, but I am 100x faster than my partner who doesn't cook much at all.
