My dad was on the new dating game around that same time, he wasn't picked , but a couple years ago he met up with one of the other contestants. I know his video is on here somewhere, We all watched it at some point shortly before he died last year. He did really enjoy being on the show. For a guy coming from a tiny town in Nebraska it was a really big deal for him.

The couple in the Love Connection segment were profiled on the 6/16/1986 issue of People magazine, as per a GOogle search so this is probably from the 1985-86 season. Gene Wood was the announcer in the Love COnnection segment here, and he started announcing for shows that weren't Mark Goodson shows when Family Feud was in between Richard Dawson's and Ray Combs' run, and Dawson's run ended in mid-1985. The Dating Game is from the 1986-87 season as that's the only season Elaine Joyce hosted. Current J! contestant wrangler-producer Maggie Speak chaperoned on this version of Dating Game I think(she's listed in the credits for the mid 80s Newlywed Game on at least one KZbin episode)
