Love Connection 1988 - The 1,000th Show

This is the 1,000th Love Connection show recorded during the Christmas season in 1988 and featured the details of Stephen Taylor and Judy Kjos date.
Judy and her sister had an act when they were young called the 'Whipper Snappers'. They would use bull whips on stage to entertain audiences and needless to say, Stephen was on his best behavior after learning both sisters were experts with the bull whip.
UPDATE - June 2023: Reading through the comments I see the question, "Are they still alive" coming up a lot. When I appeared on the show in 1988 I was 44 years old - you do the math ;-). In 1989 I relocated to Texas, met a wonderful lady, married in '91 and moved back to Southern California in '99. We currently live in San Diego County and are both healthy and enjoying life together - I made my "Love Connection". Thanks for stopping by Stephen Taylor

Judy and Stephen are by far the best contestants on LC since I’ve been binge watching this show the last few weeks. Judy is very intelligent, well developed who presents as a very honest and confident woman. Stephen is well spoken, attractive and intelligent. He seems like a real man. There need to be more Stevens and Judy’s in the world . They seemed well matched. Stephen and Judy, if you’re reading this , I hope that life has treated you well. Kind regards. ❤️

Not really. I was in my late teens and 20s j to the 80s and people and dating could be just as shitty as they are now. People tend to over romanticize the past. It’s TV that has changed. Reality shows weren’t a thing yet. Nowadays dating shows are so extreme and weird.

But teenagers liked it because they could go anytime before or at the end of a date LOL it's a real shame, it's kind of like an institution. Speaking of institutions, IHOP was another one. They're still in business but 20 years ago there was one that went out of business near us and any other one I've ever seen is sort of sad looking and not a place I would ever go. But they still have commercials. I just don't think they're doing as well as maybe they once had or I don't know.

Instead of women generally. I am very conservative, so perhaps it's surprising that I would feel this way. If anybody were to say something like that about any race, it would be regarded as racist. That just rubbed me the wrong way.

I just got to the end of the video. It would have been nice to have seen the parents or at least seen what they looked like on their initial date. I keep saying this but I wish they would reboot this show. Have new daters as well as a flashback from years past at the end. People would love it. There's no dating shows on right now. In the '70s they had the dating game, the '80s love connection, 90s blind date, shipmates, and the fifth wheel. I've been catching blind date episodes lately. I wish I could find Shipmates but I must admit I have not searched.
