Pride comes before a fall. Everyone loves a winner, and the Hollywood crowd comes around when you're on top. The lust of the flesh and the pride of life always fades away. Hollywood will fill your head full of lies, then abandon you when it all comes crashing down on you. I hope he learns this valuable lesson and sticks by the people who really love him from now on, and give no place to the culture and the Hollywood crowd as they are all headed for destruction anyway. He would have lost anyway and I don't believe that he will ever beat Joshua again. Joshua did exactly what it takes to always beat a smaller man who has shorter arms. He will never let a guy that much smaller get in close again. Wilder did the same thing to Ortiz, it's very basic, Ortiz rushes in, Wilder extends his arms to keep the distance and throwing a punch isn't needed to do that. A.J. took it a step further where at times, you see him use the extended left hand to control Ruiz's head without even throwing a punch at Ruiz. It's acting like a Matador, stepping away and to the side while doing this as the other man charges in. Vasyl Lomachenko does it a lot. Control the head and you control the man.

I like Andy. But you're right. Truth is truth. Simple as that. He should have come in 10 pounds UNDER his first fight weight. 258 would still be a big boy at 6'1. His feet were slow as molasses at 283+. What good is having fast hands if you're dragging around 30 pounds of extra weight. He was over 300 easy when they shot the first promo video for the rematch. So in his mind he lost weight from there, but that's a ridiculous weight for him.

gene thomas he just let the fame and friends get to him. He had never experienced anything like that so he got hot headed. Joshua went into the ring prepared and “hungry” as he says. Andy forgot that he had to defend the titles and got caught up with the fame. If Andy would of prepared better at least to the level that Joshua did, we would of had ourselves a hell of a fight. Just like in the first fight Joshua got too comfortable and got kO’d. This time it was the other way around. Andy is a hell of a fighter he just needs to listen to his coaches and his dad and stick to his training.

When he got a taste of money and fame, he lost discipline and hunger, and the fight. He needs to go back to training like he “he’s broke” in short terms he’s really not but it’s something to be motivated about.

Sounds like Riddick Bowe, although Riddick Bowe was much better than Ruiz and was still dangerous overweight

When you cash a cheque close to £50 million in the bank for the 1st fight, then obviously, you not gonna really be bothering about winning the rematch. Ruiz did well going the distance with the extra weight.
