His pal Ken Roberts was my art teacher in primary. His dad was my science teacher in secondary. When I left school I worked in the garage Andy used (my fathers). Claim to fame I serviced his car! He once gave my father tickets to see him in the Whitehall Theatre in Dundee so I've seen him "live" as well! I remember, with great affection, Ken, "Grandpa" Stewart, both Andy and his wife Sheila.

I wish we had programmes like this on television now.

'Mull of Kintyre' is probably the best song Paul McCartney ever wrote, especially when it was sung by Andy Stewart.

why can't we have a fiddle and accordion night on television once in a while its virtually non existent
@TCDL11 Жыл бұрын
Fiddle and Accordion programmes are still shown on TV.....albeit on BBC Alba and BBC Scotland only.
A fiddle and accordion night would be good but what would be better would be to have a group of young singers, dancers and musicians recreate something like this, and revive the Andy Stewart songs for a modern audience.

A night of Andy Stewart at Hogmanay would suit me perfectly.
