Great lesson, Andy! This free lesson was invaluable! I have been struggling for years, trying to connect the dots, but I finally am getting a better understanding of how my "bits and pieces" of jazz chords become conversational through lessons like this! I had never even known what a "Bird Blues" was before this lesson! You are a wonderful teacher! Thank you for all that you do! Oh, and I must say... I should also say that your production values (Image Quality + Graphics + Chord Diagrams + Sound) are EXCELLENT 110%! You have "re-set the bar" quite high! I wouldn't be surprised if you have a pro film guy helping you - but maybe you are great at that, too? What camera do you shoot this with? A Red Scarlet with a Zeiss prime lens?! Excellent lighting and background, too! Your beautiful guitars are always polished! Your fingers are manicured nicely. You, Sir, are a true PRO!

Hi Joseph - thank you for the kind words. I am glad that you are understanding how the lines relate to the chords. To answer your question, I do the filming and editing myself. I use a Panasonic G85 camera (3 of them(!)) with a Rokinon lens.

Incredibly tasty lines and licks! I thought that spelling out the chords was too cliché, but I think I'm realizing it's only cliché, if you spelled out _every note_ of the chord, which would essentially make in arpeggio. But omitting one or the other note or playing enclosures makes it a lot more interesting. Nice, I think the proverbial nickel dropped here with me :-) Thanks!

Thankyou Andy for the lesson, excellent. Just got a question at time 4:57 with the C7(b9) chord, the b9 is C# which is like an augmented or as a lead into the Dminor/Fmajor7 chord? Thankyou

Andy, the sound of this chord progression reminds me of the hit song, Just The Two Of Us. Is this progression somehow related?
@AndyDacoulis

Hello - those two progressions are not really related. The only similarity would be the descending minor 7 chords. Thanks
