Love the Bob Seger induction into the R&R Hall of Fame. Loved Kid Rocks speech. Another good one was Led Zeppelin with Jack Black. Seeing Robert Plant tear up when Heart played Stairway to Heaven with John Bonhams son on the drum gave me goosebumps. Love to watch the inductions, so many great artists. But I think Seger & Zeppelin have been the best.

Bob Seger is the real deal. He had been playing in local Detroit bands since 1961, and you are hearing, in this song, a man 14 yrs into a career of obscure struggle. He had seen little success outside the Detroit area, where we loved him, and this song is his account of the mental/emotional strain of the experience. This 1975 live album was very well received, but still did not translate to stardom. Check this quote out: "Yet still, Seger had a popularity imbalance. In June 1976, he was a featured performer at the Pontiac Silverdome outside Detroit in front of nearly 80,000 fans. The next night, Seger played before fewer than a thousand people in Chicago". ~ It is known When Bob finally reached the pinnacle of success in the late 70s and 80s, it was so gratifying for we fans from his hometown region, to see an amazing storyteller and artist get his due. It felt like a victory for both Bob and the city that supported him until the rest of America caught up. It is also reported that he is a good, down to earth man, who makes time for fans. in a blue collar town, that still counts for something.

Yeah, that's a cultural reference that would probably be lost on people from Andy & Alex's generation. These days, it isn't considered particularly odd or remarkable for a guy to have long hair, and really hasn't excited much comment since... oh, the mid-80s or so, for the most part -- but back in the early-to-mid-'70s, it was *definitely* not considered fashionable or acceptable, especially outside of college towns or areas which were already known for having a strong streak of non-conformism to begin with.

There’s a lot on that album to love. Like Running On Empty, or The Road. The coolest thing about The Road is the venue change in the middle. Many years ago I used that song to teach my late son’s elementary school class about echolocation. Jackson Browne is a killer songwriter but he doesn’t have Seeger’s voice.

In 1975, on my 21st birthday a bunch of us went to an outdoor concert up in Seattle. There were a lot of acts, including Bachman Turner Overdrive and Little River Band. One of the bands couldn't make it because the singer was sick (Flash Cadillac). So at the last minute a completely unknown band replaced them - Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band! They knocked us out! I've been a fan ever since.

One of the greatest lines ever written is in the Bob Seger song "Against the Wind", Seger fans already know what I'm gonna say, the line is "I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then". The funny thing is that Bob put that line in as a place saver, intending to replace it because he thought it sounded dumb and didn't make sense. His friends who he ran the song by convinced him to keep it in. Lucky for him, because that's the line that grabs you.

This album “Live Bullet” is one of the best live albums ever, it was recorded in Detroit’s old Cobo Hall, Sefer and the band is from Michigan. “Live Bullet” is one of the great live rock albums. Two other masterpieces from that record are “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” and the “Travelin’ Man/Beautiful Loser” medley. An evocative mood piece, similar in feel to “Turn the Page,” would be “Main Street.” For all out bangers, there’s “Get Out of Denver,” “The Fire Down Below,” and “Kathmandu.” For a beautiful, heartfelt ballad, you can’t beat “We’ve Got Tonight.” I suppose if I had to choose my all time favorite Bob Seger song, though, it would be “Against the Wind.”

Bob Seger is from the area I grew up in, in Michigan. He was far from an overnight sensation. He toured with his band, who are also local musicians, and played everywhere he could for almost 20 FUCKING YEARS before he became well known. For all those years, he played like a star but wasn't.

My favorite Bob S song. Guys your going to love him. Other great songs “Like a Rock,” was used in Chevy Truck commercials. Bob gave the song to them for them to use. Ol Time Rock & Roll” was used in the movie “Risky Business” probably have heard both of these.✨Then “Night Moves,” Still the Same” Against the Wind” I don’t think he has a bad song. Was lucky enough to make this concert in my home town of Detroit at Cobo Hall, downtown on the Detroit river. No sex ever left the lasting impression as that song live!! First time I seen Bob Seger was at “Notre Damn” high school on 8 Mile. They were known as the “Bob Seger System”. It cost 4 cans of soup to get in. Last school dance they ever played. They had just came out with “2 + 2 Is On My Mind”. Great song, and the rest is history!!!

Bob Seger was my parents favorite band of course they saw this Live Bullet. I believe they saw the band 20 plus times in several states they were so ridiculously good from start to finish.I grew up o this music heard it almost everyday along with CCR and just about every other great band in this time.I feel blessed I was able to grow up with such great music.
