One could argue that without Christine McVie, there would be no band. She wrote or co-wrote most of their hits... look at their Greatest Hits album. Christine is the sole writer on 8 of the 16 songs (Nicks 5, Buckingham 3).

@@stevelucero9047 Also, she did a lot to keep the band worth listening to during the lost years between being a blues band and being the ultimate hit makers they became. Bob Welch helped, but she was the best thing they had going during that time the band could easily have just folded.

Lindsey is the most underrated guitarist. Let’s remember that they had to quickly find a guitarist and singer to play/sing Lindsey’s parts. They didn’t have to fill in his guitar twice. They had to fill his guitar and vocals. Thus two. The first time was when he abruptly left on his own when a tour was already scheduled. The second was because he got tossed for his abusive personality when a tour was being scheduled. Then his wife tossed him for his abusive personality. He’s a prima donna. Underrated but that doesn’t erase his history.

Firstly Christine isnt just a backing player shes got plenty where shes front and center and had a ton of great songs before Lindsey and stevie got in the band and the report she had with Lindsey was incredible. Yes the drama was mostly stevie and lindsay but the great majority of the work was definitely Christine and Lindsey. And in my opinion some of thier best live stuff is later when they are Clean and not boozed and coked up. "The last dance" has some really mature tight versions of songs including lindsays solo work (which needs to be recognized). For the next patreon movie i suggest the live set they did in the late 90s called "the dance". They are not too old if thats what you're afraid of.

This is such a great song, even the studio version rocks. This band was always so tight live, I always loved seeing them. These days, the fingerpickers often get their nails reinforced with acrylics/composites to keep from ruining their fingers.

Great job guys, thanks! Incredible live performance! Phenomenal band, I’ve been a fan since the Peter Green years. Interesting fact, Mick Fleetwood & Rod Stewart were briefly in a band called Shotgun Express in the mid-1960s. Fleetwood was playing drums for the group when Stewart joined in on vocals. R.I.P. Lindsey's Rick Turner is such a unique and somehow singular sound just for him! Nobody I can think of used a Turner as a primary axe. His finger work is absolutely phenomenal!! Thanks guys! Blue Letter is a simple yet great tune!

One of the best shows I’ve seen was this group in 1977. Mick Fleetwood was such an animal on the drums…. Great live band at that point in time!!

My dad saw Fleetwood Mac in the 70s and was near to the front. He plays guitar and was completely mesmerized by Lindsey and since that concert he rarely plays his guitar with a pick. He jokes that Stevie kept giving him a confused look bc, instead of staring at her like every other man in the audience, he was too busy staring at Lindsey’s fingers. I also recommend Silver Springs from The Dance. It’s so good.

Let's see so during this concert a lot of things were happening. Stevie just came off her Bella Donna mini tour, a #1 record, her breakthrough solo performance Lindsey came out with a solo album that same year and didn't do as well. When Stevie gave Lindsey a copy of her album and signed it for him, he left it sitting on the floor of the studio. Stevie says she never forgave him for that. Just before this concert took place, Stevie's best friend since high school died with leukemia who decided to not go through chemo to save her baby as she was pregnant, and she was absolutely grief-stricken during this time and out of her mind with saving the baby and losing her best friend. She went through the rest of this tour high as a kite on cocaine and whatever else. So yeah, a lot of drama there.

I am soooooo sorry that you guys will not see Fleetwood Mac in concert!!! I have seen them 4 times in concert and they got HARD on stage with Stevie spinning around playing her Tambourine, and Lindsay is shredding his guitar until the strings pop and he throws the guitar into the audience....gets another guitar from a roadie....and picks up on the riff and continues to play!!!!! Just Excellent stuff!!!!!

For some guitar work that’s above and beyond, his acoustic song “never going back” is killer, you would swear that it was two guitars overdubbed, but it’s all him playing banjo style finger picking.

This whole concert is amazing. I had it recorded on VHS from appearing on HBO back in the early 80's, and I wore that tape out. Also recorded it to cassette tape, so I could carry it with me.

I have several live versions of this gem on my mp3 player. This one is probably my favorite. yet I never thought to look for the vid of it. Now I've got the double-pleasure of seeing IT & YOU guys reacting to it for the first time as well. I don't think the "proximate cocaine high" quite made it thru YOUR screen AND mine, but I'm definitely buzzin' here all the same!

Fantastic! Another S tier live performance is Billy Joel "Angry Young Man" circa 1981. His broken thumb doesn't slow him down. This is the intro that Rick Beato's piano guy wouldn't believe wasn't done in a synchronizer until Rick explained to him they didn't exist when the original was recorded.
