Born in 2001, I feel like the early 2000's felt like there was a brief moment where it was a perfect mix of both. Everyone was close and together but tech was just advanced enough to seem wild, awesome, and always innovative. Things weren't perfect, but there was the future, community, and vibe that made it seem way more hopeful than today. Everything now feels so divided, hopeless, and a bit scary. Just hope we can return to days like these soon, humanity definitely needs it

Ending song got me in tears. At some point in our lives, we watched our last Cartoon Cartoon, we sang the farewell song for the last time, we watched the last reading rainbow, and we watched the zoo books ad for the last time. We played outside in the woods until dark for the last time. We hung out with our childhood friends for the last time as kids. Maybe I'm emotional because of the state of the world in comparison to how things were in the 90s, or maybe I just miss not having computers and phones on us at all times. If I could go back, stuck in time forever, it would be these days. Love, '94 child :(

@@karinadelma It was an incredible time, like the ’90s spilling into a new era. American Idol was in its prime, and shows like House, Punk’d, Heroes (season one), and Lost were redefining TV. KZbin had just launched, mainly filled with funny home videos-one of them, "Evolution of Dance", became the first video to reach a million views. Myspace was everywhere, letting us design profiles and add our favorite music. Apple was rising fast with the iPod, soon followed by the iPhone. Singers like Michelle Branch, Christina Aguilera (whose “Dirrty” music video caused an uproar-though it seems tame by today’s standards), Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, and Eminem ruled the charts. Amazon was just starting to transition into a shopping site, so we still hung out at malls. I can keep going....

Funny thing is, I collected AJPW (All Japan) wrestling tapes, some of them still having commercials. Even in Japan there was a Zoobooks equivalent that sold animal VHS tapes, but it was an entirely different brand and it aired on AJPW shows somewhat frequently. Had things like cheetahs, tarantulas, rhinos, frogs, etc. with a Japanese narrator, somewhat theatrical like "March of the Penguins".

Fortunately, you can relive the glory days by deleting your social media, and streaming services. Invest in physical media again, which directly pays the artist, and gives you that tactile, analog feeling. The one unfortunate aspect of nostalgic escape we can’t return to anymore is the video rental store. Which was, for many of us, a huge part of our childhood.

@Power 106 I was born in 1994 and experienced almost everything here lol What I didn't experience is because I was not born in the US. I guess it depends on how much access you had to old things too. I had had nes, sega, playstation, as well as windows 95, 98 and xp in my hands as long as I can remember. Of course also playstation 2, game boy color, advance, ds, etc. but that's a little more 2000s. I think people want to make us fit in gen Z just because they're jealous some 90s kids got to experience the 2000s as well. And I could also talk about movies, series, music, fashion etc.
