Long time blender user here, but never put much attention to hair character workflow in Blender. Some stupid story, i spend almost two weeks learning Maya XGen and Ornatrix thinking that is the way to go for grooming realistic character, buy some course and asset to start with, play around and never quite happy with the process itself, then i come to your video..boy i was never been very wrong, underestimating blender hair system. Basically every single modifier and feature used in xgen and ornatrix, you can find in vanilla blender without addon! plus you get hair dynamic and physics, and because my muscle memory work best in blender, everything make much more sense and intuitive and quick! Thanks for the inspiration!

@A-fxs You can subdivide between any 2 vertices, Have to have more than 1 vert selected to add a vert in between them. Doesn't matter how many steps you have, as long as their is more than 1.

@EmvyBeats2 жыл бұрын
You have to have the root and the next vert selected = 2 verts, In order to add a new vert in between them / subdivide. Select the root, then Ctrl + to select the vert above the root, Then subdivide to add the vert inbetween.

6:54 looks like the particle area is different from the vertex group you made, the right side you made in vertex group is the only top of the head, im a little bit confused here, thanks anyway
@AneeshArts4 жыл бұрын
Ha ha !! You are right!!, Actually the Problem occurs because at the time when I was recording the Vertex Group the model was very different, than later when I finalized the model I fell that I didn't liked the face so i readjusted the Head and remake the hairs, the time of remaking I forgot to record the vertex group,, SO yes the later version of vertex group is real which I used.

i failed to catch that 5:08 bit where you 'assign the weight of the top and subtract the weight of the Scalp01' How do you delete one group from another? And where did this 'Right' vertex group come from, seeing how you made Scalp, Top, Scalp01 and Scalp02' and 'Right' doesn't even look like these.
