ANEK LINES | F/B KRITI II - Is the end near?

After almost 25 years of service with ANEK LINES, F/B KRITI II was finally replaced in Piraeus - Heraklion route by ARIADNE (for the summer season) and from September ASTERION II will assume a permanent role in this route.
What do you think about her future??? Can still despite her age (45 years old) serve a role either as a RO/RO or as a Passenger ship??

She did change ANEK in early 2000s but now the only advantage she has is the low fuel consumption and the large garage. But she is also 45 years old…. She created more problems than solutions in the last couple of years in the Piraeus - Heraklion route. So I can’t see her as a passenger ship any more. Maybe as a RO/RO can work. We’ll see

In ferryscanner every ship of anek is showed that it is owned by blue star ferries Το ποιό πιθανό να πάει για σκραπ.

All of ANEK ships are owned by Attica now because ANEK doesn’t exist as a company any more. Είναι πολύ πιθανό σενάριο όντως. Σίγουρα σαν επιβατηγό δεν μπορεί πλέον να χρησιμοποιηθεί
