Cordy punching Darla and saying "I'm in" was repeated in Firefly when Zoey punched Safron/Bridgette/Yolanda and said "I'm in".

In Quickening we see the story develop further, great bluff by Fred with the knife saying I will 'slice the miracle child' in the hospital when the vampires arrive. A great scene also when Holtz eventually finds Angel, and Darla going into labour at the end sets up some great following episodes. All in all two pretty decent episodes back to back.

This is one of my favourite Angel's episodes. It has all, action, drama, clever comedy and irony: - The way the mighty WR&H ninja effortlessly got eaten by the vampire cult. - Vampires calmly promise to slice open Darla and consume her eyeballs and Darla's reaction. - A well trained army got beaten by an 18th century man with a sword.. - A psychic with chicken legs, and Sahjhan's street face.

You're right Jules, we reallt do need occasional reminders of just how monstrous Angel used to be. It really is easy to forgot that the dude used to be a straight-up baby-killing force of nature who terrorised Europe for ages. That's one of the reasons why I like Holtz, because despite the fact that he's an antagonist, he's actually a good guy who deserves our sympathy. Also, I love that little look of pride Angel has upon discovering he's going to have a son, and that he's apparently going to be special. You can tell he would have liked to have a family in another life. Things are really off and running now!

Yes!! It's so easy to forget as he's our Angel... He helps the helpless!! But the things he's done in the past.... Yikes. Honestly, I can't blame Holtz. He definitely has my sympathy. The poor guy lost everything 😥

@@julesreacts You're absolutely right, we need the reminders of the things he's done as Angelus but not just to understand the villains from his past that he has to confront now but so you also understand why he insists on taking the long path of redemption. It's why he destroyed the Gem of Amarra, it's why he turned back time when the Mohra demon made him human, and it's why he was so nonchalant about the prophecy that told him he'd be human. Unlike most other vampires, Angelus took great pleasure in finding new and diabolical ways to torture his prey. While most other vampires hunt and feed on their prey. For them it's just hunt, scare, move on. For Angelus, it was never about the kill. It was about the torture, both the emotional and physical torture that he could inflict on others. That's why Angel will never want the fast path to redemption. For him that's cheating. And that is also why he is a true champion.

Angel season 3 firing on all cylinders now! Concerning your thoughts about angelus and holtz, i agree that it's good to occasionally show angels past and how hos evil destroyes lives. Buffy tends to be a bit more black and white with their villains, whereas angel definitely exists in shades of grey.

Hello Jules, 💜 I hope you wrangle that headache soon. I often wake with one as well, so I know the feeling. A full-on active episode - flashbacks, spies(within spies?), bugs, friends (?), and foes. 3:43 - the team does have a few interesting plans of action. It might be time for a 3rd or 4th opinion! 😅 6:34 - An excellent point, Jules - it does seem to be a plot hole, as I would think phone conversations would be intercepted as well. It can be filed away, along with the fact that they have been bugging the hotel for a while now, and only ANGEL is named in the transcripts, whilst others are just generic labels, like Cordelia as Female 1. 🤭Seems like some sloppy surveillance. That Gavin! 🤣 Darla has one of the finer lines here - “Looks like I’m getting dinner after all!” as she smiles. 😂 I don’t believe empathy for Holtz is misguided. He has been a hunter for some unknown time, prior to this flashback scene, presumedly for the protection of the populace at large - a selfless defender of the innocent populace, until the acts of Darla and Angelus took a personal turn. He and Angel seem to be two sides of the same coin. One started with noble intentions, but changed once Angelus acted against him. Whereas Angel’s story is the opposite, more or less, so far as Angelus is concerned. But now Angel is seeking redemption of sorts, and Holtz has made dark deals. It seems that Angel can live a more noble life but can he be totally redeemed for the actions herein? And Holtz has chosen a path, very similar, it would seem, to the one Giles set upon, after losing Jenny, with no one interested in stopping him. A big bad who isn’t really bad at all? A very interesting relationship being set up between the two it seems. 🤔 Two nonsense asides - I was watching the original Minecraft video just before this, and you were outfitted the same! And now, 8:23, you see Vernon Mapes, as he appeared 60 plus years earlier, on the streets of LA Noire, when Biggs set out to catch him in the arson case. 😝 I hope your headache is defeated soon, Jules, 💜🤕🤗💜 and you get to enjoy a happy productive day. I am pleased you enjoyed this episode as much as I did. Take care, and have an, improved, wonderful day. 😊

Tom 🤗💜 it really wasn't a nice day for me as my headache was around for most of it. Thankfully now, many tablets later, it is gone. It really just was so much pain. Not happy! I love that you agree with me about Holtz! I can't help but feel sorry for the guy. I would challenge anyone who had their whole family murdered to not be at least a little but grumpy! I do love that we get to see things from his side, to really nail home the affect Angelus and Darla had back in the day. A whirlwind of terror. I had to go and check the dates I filmed this one and the Minecraft one, but they are on different days! Good eye, Mr Tom Swift! I really did like my winter assortment of clothing this year. It might be a while before I get to wear them again, but I shall look forward to them very much 😅 Thank you for your well wishes, Tom. It's really been an awful day but I'm so glad to be feeling better now. I hope yours has been a tad more pleasant 💜🤗

Should be interesting to see what skitters out. Holtz can easily defeat WRH's special ops team. Holtz traveled over 200 years to get a shot at Angelus, you can't think a few clowns in armor with guns can stop him.

Well, nobody in that hotel likes Darla, and they do have a habit of referring to people they don't like with snarky nicknames instead of using their actual names... now I'm curious to go back through the previous episodes to see whether they actually do manage to avoid mentioning Darla directly by name.

@@dustyb58 In that case I guess Wolfram & Hart are just keeping things dispassionate and impersonal. They've clearly identified the rest of them, but aside from Angel, W&H just don't consider anyone else in that hotel important enough to refer to any of them by name.

Are you not watching X-Files anymore?
@tomswift34823 ай бұрын
With her current 3 shows and posts on her game channel, she had no time, and it was creating some strain on her day to day. She had to drop something, and she chose to stop, for now, the least watched, which turned out to be X-Files. She has stated in the past, several times, that as the current series end, she might pick up X-Files again, as she is interested in continuing, but it still depends on interest from viewers versus her available time and other factors. TV shows take an inordinate amount of time to edit for the channel, and it is tough if the interest isn't there from channel subs and viewers. It is a possibility though.
