Ironically, Caitlin Clark initially made the "you can't see me" gesture to her former USA Basketball teammate and roommate, Hailey Van Lith, who is notorious for her trash talk. In fact, this is likely why CC told Hailey to shut up in the same game. Van Lith was interviewed before the game, and at that time, she said that any trash talk between them is "done in love." You know, kind of like MJ and Magic famously going at it in practice on the Dream Team in 1992. Why Angel Reese brought race into this, saying that she was standing up for girls who look like she does, has nothing to do with CC or anything CC did in her game with Van Lith. Personally, I did not like the way Reese taunted CC at the end of the game, but race never entered my mind when this occurred. I would have been equally disappointed if CC did the same thing to Angel if Iowa had won. And while many people were justifiably upset by those who brought racist comments into the conversation (I was upset by this too), I am sure that CC would have been attacked mercilessly if the roles were reversed, in which case race would have been the focus of the conversation in a very different way. The whole thing is unfortunate, as both of these players have been wonderful for the game, and this is what we should all be focused on.

Props to LSU for winning the Championship. They hit their shots. Jasmine was hot in the first half. She had 11 pts the entire tournament going into the Championship game. That shows you up until that point her impact was nothing to LSU. Take her points away, and Iowa is in that game. Kudo's to her for having the "Hot Hand" when her teammates were on the Bench. As for the "Facing". The difference between when Caitlin did it against Louisville, and Angel did it to her, "IS", Caitlin did not do it to one player or in their face. She made a shot, and was walking back to their bench during a called timeout. Am I saying it is right or wrong, no. Is it any different when a player shoots a 3 and makes it and runs down the court with 3 fingers in the air or pounding their chests, I say "no". I will say what Angel did to Caitlin was in poor taste and poor Sportsmanship. It has nothing to do with race, it has everything to do with 2 competitive players on the basketball court. She could have done herself SO MUCH justice by walking up to Caitlin and hugging her and showing her props. You see the media great hope, lm at the games, Clark lve seen play over 100 times, she is known for taunting. They see NBA players do u, so they mimic it. Bad calls on both ends and that's how it is in sports. All sports. How about all thats whining about the calls go get you a whistle and a ref shirt, slacks, and shoes and go call some games. Better yet are you always flawless on the job or in what you do. Iowa expected a game but didn't expect the bench was going to come out blazing. So bad calls on both ends putting their starters on the bench. LSU wanted it more and they kept their focus and did their game. 4 fouls didn't prevent Clark from shooting her 3s or even feed the big girl. Shut up, there were no bogus fouls called. Angel Reese & Morris set out the entire 2nd quarter in foul trouble. I watched the entire game from courtside, Clark was pushing players off her with her free arm the entire tournament, and the Refs were letting her get away with it, she was out there taunting players, hollering at the Refs, and her coach dumb ass never even congratulated the winning coach after the game, these Iowa players got outplayed by a better-coached team, simple as that. You cant win relying on just one player, the bench has to step up, Iowa got humbled the same way UConn got humbled by SC last year.

This game saw LSU bench players step up big time and Iowa bench players did not. Iowa coach should have playing those players during the tournament and they would not have been so ice cold out there. She got outcoached and was such a sore loser, she didn't go through the "handshake" line to congratulate the winning coach. THAT IS WHAT WAS CLASSLESS, but the media never mentioned that or showed it. I was right there at the game, so I saw it.
