Clark was also taunting the South Carolina freshman point guard (Raven Johnson), the entire game. Clark, despite her exceptional talent, taunts other players quite a bit.

No.. Clark really doesn't. If Clark had a constant yapping problem it would be on video .. she's gotten alot of press and TV coverage this year. About 36 games there TKO ... can you show me 36 vids of Clark talking w opponents? How about can you show me Clark trash talking in 5 games out of 36 ? 5 of 36 is about once in every 7 games.

@@arcdestriumph586 Taunting is not always talking. It is also gesturing. Watch the SC game and you'll see it happening quite a bit to Johnson near the 3-point line.

@@tko8218 One game isn't "quite a bit".. I watched the SC game. And most of the game Iowa was in a 2-1-2 zone defense w Clark in the middle .. putting her in the paint while the guards (raven johnson) were out front where communication wasn't going to happen. Telling someone "shoot it" really isn't any different that saying "swing" to a batter in baseball. It's not putting anyone down.. which is what a taunt is.

It's hilarious, we are only 2 days removed from the commentators kissing Clark's ass for taunting the SC players for not being able to shoot and now Reese is public enemy number one. Clark's been doing the you can't see me chant for weeks, now it's a problem. We don't even have to wonder why there is a different set of standards.

@chapter404th

Here’s everything that happened in detail. In the elite eight game, Caitlyn was harassed by Hailey from Louisville (same girl who called a black girl a b*tch from Texas), then Clark made a good three point shot and did a celly to her own bench. After the game she got interviewed by @randirichnbc and told the interviewer that she was letting her coach know she was in the zone. She even gave props to Hailey face to face after the game. Fast forward to the natty, Reese yelled an insult at Clark at the free throw line near the end of the game and did Clark’s celly to taunt her, and when the game was over, followed Clark around the court (seemingly) trying to get her to react to her. I believe there’s a huge difference. I’m a huge women’s sports advocate, my own girlfriend is a DII hooper. I wanted LSU to beat SC initially but they played Iowa. Nobody likes a toxic player. It doesn’t matter what color somebody is, or gender, if someone did that people would get upset, because we naturally hate that type of behavior. I think we gotta stop condoning it and running with narratives. This is why it’s so important to not speak on something we don’t know.

Are ppl really upset with this? I’m white and from middle class family but played at my local park with my fellow African and Caucasian brothers and this was just part of the game. 90s NBA was full of this too. This type of trash talk has nothing to do with the color of your skin or where you’re from. It’s about being competitive and showing emotion. It was controlled and didn’t escalate or provoke any anger from the other team. It only provoked the softies that don’t understand the game.

@@tonyettaaikins8516 Your question is well stated but I personally see a slight difference. Players taunt other "teams" all the time. I don't care for it but I guess it's part of the psyche game. But to follow one player around (when the game is in the books) and taunt her to her face? I just think that's when the line is crossed. There has to be a limit to this kind of stuff. If Clark has ever gotten in a girl's face and taunted her like this then shame on HER. There should be a limit to this kind of behavior - regardless of who does it. It's getting out of control. Sportsmanship has been replaced by trash talking. I find that sad. Personally, I never cared for Larry Bird because he was regarded as the worst trash talker in the NBA.

@bragebrageson2609 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. If this was a player in the last seconds of the NBA Finals Game 7, stalking and insulting a superstar like LeBron or Curry they'd be losing endorsements etc. The real story here is Angel Reese seems to have a chip on her shoulder and is jealous Clark was the superstar of the tournament and media. She wanted it to be her. She acted childishly "kicking" Clark when she was down and out. Pulled the race card to salvage her image and everyone bought it. She should've done her taunting during the game after big plays. Not following Clark around like that. But the race card saved her image. I've always been a big supporter of equality etc but reading people's comments here has made me a little more apprehensive in the future. The vitriol is so strong.
@MaximusWolfe
@MaximusWolfe Жыл бұрын
@@bragebrageson2609 I quite agree. Talk about low hanging fruit, using her race victimhood to salvage her deplorable lack of respect for a competitor. Given the current social climate it was obviously the cheapest, most sanctimonious way to redirect the gaze of those who merely feel fatigue from watching athletes behave like complete idiots and boorish narcissists when they succeed. As for equality, I must depart. Yes, every human race is made in the divine image and thus possesses the same capacity for what we Christians refer to as theosis (partaking of the divine nature) since this isn’t accomplished by intellectual striving. However, the implications of micro evolution are such that there is no possibility of intellectual or physical existing equality between every race. The disparity in rates of innovation alone proves this. As do increases in IQ the more white ethnicity a black person or mestizo person is possessed of. This is not to say that whites are necessarily the top ethnic group. After all, Chinese people test higher in IQ than whites. But there are disparities and these have cultural, historical and social implications, like it or not. For the life of me I can’t recall very many white athletes behaving like this at the end of the game. But when you see blacks doing it it’s anything but surprising. Few are those who will admit this but they understand it just the same. Just like when you hear that some brawl broke out at Disney World or Chucky Cheese between two families you automatically know what ethnic group is involved. Some of the people I admire most in history are Black people so don’t get me wrong here. I’m no bigot. However, I’m also not going to pretend like what we see in terms of crime rates, unending professional victimhood and entitlements are somehow common to all ethnic groups. If that makes me a racist in the eyes of fools then so be it.

Exactly. These people keep conflating gamesmanship with poor sportsmanship. It’s a completely different situation when your team is ahead by 20 with seconds left on the clock. Piling on to someone else’s sense of agony is ugly. But let’s face it, the only people pretending like Reese was in the right are black people. They will not suffer any lack of obligatory flattery aimed at their public figures. It’s an inferiority complex.

@@giftedmisfit105 that's what sad about this world is when ppl try to justify an IG following vs what they can do on the court....Reese will NEVER be even remotely close to doing what Clark is doing to women's basketball

I had never watched a full women’s basketball game. This was my first only because I saw highlights of Caitlyn gesturing. I may only watch for angel reese in the future. Because otherwise women’s basketball is unwatchable.

Yeah, but she’s just a kid. What’s much more concerning is all the complete morons who try to spin and twist this around to make it seem like she did absolutely nothing wrong. As society continues to crumble these people just continue to come out of the woodwork, displaying their complete indifference to things like class, sportsmanship, decency, etc.
