I’ve recently dove into bourbon and have cut through the average bottles like this and jumped right to premium cause of your videos haha. Hard to go to something like angels envy after having EHT, ECBP, McKenna 10yr, Russell’s etc. finally have gotten to more common bottles and I was not impressed by angels envy. You guys are spot on. Can’t wait to get ahold of stagg jr and Russell’s 13yr. That’s the next tier I haven’t been able to obtain. Thanks for accelerating my new hobby haha.

For my birthday this year I’m gonna finish my bourbon whiskey journey. Thanks to you guys and the whiskey vault I have tried so many different ones over the last few years. So I’m finishing this year with Lagavulin, Angels Envy, and Eagle Rare! Bad timing with the prices I’m seeing now but oh well lol

Did this one open up for you? I just bought a bottle last weekend to try it out. I would have given it a C+\B-. But that's just me. I got a nice taste of caramel apple from it, that I really enjoyed.

I am guessing that you guys are somewhere in the Midwest with your "Meijer" disclaimer, so I (also in the midwest) feel like our prices are very similar. I like the Angel's Envy, but I also feel like they are charging $50+ for a $40 bourbon (I am factoring in $30 craft bourbon with +$10 for the special finish). I have a Port finished bourbon from Traverse City Whiskey Co. for $40 that I would buy any day of the week over this one. I still think this finished bourbon is good, but I think the hype has priced this one out of the "Fair Market Value". With the Knob Creek Single Barrel at $50 or the Elijah Craig Barrel Proof at $60, I expect more (ABV if nothing else) in this region at that price tag.

We're in Michigan, and I'll agree with you that I think Angel's is over priced for the pour you're getting. Dan loves it infinitely more than I ever will, but that's the fun of doing this. We both get to hate on what the other one enjoys!

Angels Envy is delicious, but I feel like it's a little pricier than necessary. $50-$60+ dollars is getting up there to the average whiskey consumer. I come from a fairly well off family so $50 dollars is not breaking the bank, but that is a lot of money to others less fortunate. Is it worth that much? Maybe, taste is subjective after all, but I just feel like it could be more in the 40 range.

DUDE....Your wall is so empty compared to today's videos. I just tried the AE yesterday and felt it was a bit weak for me. I really would like to try a Cask Strength. the 86.6 proof does not do it. Nice taste but just needs to be a higher proof.

I agree, I was a little disappointed too. I like a little more bite and heat out of a pour so I’m with you on the high proof. AE isn’t bad at all, just won’t pay $60 for it ever again. Cheers!

The point is that we've changed quite a bit since this was posted. At least go to something newer and give it a try. If someone still feels the same let us know then.
