I was shocked when Angela read the texts from Michael saying "send me 5 grand" or whatever it was, and I genuinely thought that he had actually been scamming her the whole time. But when he revealed that she wouldn't let him have a job since the beginning of their relationship because she was afraid of him encountering other women, and also wanted him to be at her beck and call 24/7, i realized what was actually happening. She stopped paying for his living expenses, and he had no choice but to try to make his own money. He stopped obeying all her demands, like being around women, hanging out with his friends who she didn't like etc. And that isn't even a big deal, that is normal everyday things in regular relationships. He should have called the police on her for sure. She always makes a point of saying that she's not a Nigerian, "I'm an American!". Yet when she went to Nigeria this last time she said that as his wife, under Nigerian law she owns his property including his car, hence her destroying it. So what is it Angela? Are you American or Nigerian? Or does it differ only when it benefits you?

I really hope people start to realize that woman-on-man abuse is just as bad as the other way around, even if it is less widespread and way less systemic. As an aside, I'm really surprised to see that Akini and Benjamin are still together and doing well: good for them!

I was in an abusive relationship where he would try and get me to yell, scream or act violent. If I did yell please stop, why do you do this to me, or something along that lines he'd claim I was the the abuser. Eventually when my mom and I were watching a movie as I was laying down with a broken ankle we realized he had been trying to record us yelling and acting violent. Second time I saw him pull his cellphone out and stop recording. Guessing his friends were so convinced I was the abuser they told him to start recording. The last time I saw him try to record me and my mother the recording would have been us calmly asking him what is wrong and that we're watching a movie. I had a broken ankle. What did he think was going to happen? Few days later he left a note on the kitchen table telling me to leave. Didn't even do it in person. We packed me up and never looked back. It did get worse after that I did leave him. Harassing my friends and family with messages I was the psychotic one. None of us responded to him.
