Titles have to be removed by an Act of Parliament.The second reading of a bill on this will be read in November. In the meantime, it will help if you contact your MP and Downing Street to express your opinion on it. It will take public pressure to ensure the removal of Harry's titles. Some MPs are republican, some may have other priorities etc.

I don't know what happened to the other. The Parliamentary Office of Inquires told me that private members bills rarely become law. They mainly raise issues. Harry's scathing insult of the British government last week might incite some action...? I agree that it's time that King Charles can start to eliminate Harry from his invitation to Royal events list. Until now, I thought it would have been churlish of the King to get stingy with invitations. Plus, Harry's attendance highlights his poor standing in the UK and in the audience. But, the time has come to lower the boom on Harry's appearances.

Removing titles and removing a person from the line of succession require Acts of Parliament. It was set up that way to prevent a hot headed monarch from upsetting the country with rash or injudicious actions. Changes in Royal status are delicate processes that demand due deliberation and are bound by constitutional and legal constraints. All this goes into history books and King Charles is intelligent and dedicated enough to Royal protocol and law to know how it all works. 'Traitor' has a specific legal definition in the UK which generally amounts to killing a monarch, being proven to be planning to kill a monarch or declaring war on a monarch. Harry's got a way to go before he qualifies as a traitor.

This is not the Middle Ages. The King, nor the government for that matter, can exile a person. Even if a serious crime was committed, which Harry has not, a person would be tried and convicted in a court of law and sentenced to prison in their country. Not exiled. "Kicking ass" is not Royal. Monarchies are bound by law, protocol, tradition, the constitution and impeccable etiquette. Every step King Charles takes in this situation goes into history books. Harry can make a fuss and humiliate himself publicly but the Monarchy cannot. King Charles has done everything he can within the law to distance Harry. He has to be removed from the line of succession or the King could be saying goodbye to the rest of the Royal Family. Nobody would want this very unstable Clown and his wife to be kept in luxury by the British people. If the king is not willing or unable to remove him it must be done by parliament and the sooner the better. People are already saying its time for a change and the Royals should be over when our late Queen died.
