I punched a hole and put a key chain in a plastic guitar pick that I found at one of my last vacation rental cleanings and I use it to scrape anything stuck to the hard floor. Works like a charm and is stiff enough to do the job yet is flexible enough not to scratch the floor. I Love it!

I am a retired critical care nurse. I started using Odo Ban when I was caring for a sick brother and needed a disinfecting cleaner that could also be used on laundry. It was recommended by the head of environmental services AndI found out that lots of hospitals use this. It has a pleasant smell but not overpowering like Lysol. I’ve used all three scents: original, eucalyptus, and lavender. I also foster dogs, so lots of pet messes. I use the BioStain from Odo Ban. It is the best! Does a great job of cleaning and sanitizing areas wher the dogs have messed. Additionally, it disguises or removes the after smell that draws animals back to eliminate in that area.
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
That is awesome! So glad to know that you enjoy Odo Ban. Thank you for sharing your uses and experience with the product, I appreciate it!
@Pvbeachbum159 ай бұрын
to note - the pH Neutral floor cleaner of OdoBan's has NO disinfecting properties (I called the company) BUT it is formulated to not leave streaks. So take your pick, lol. I actually don't get streaks from property diluted odoban and it is actually pH neutral as well, so I usually mop with regular disinfecting odoBan, but if streaks are a problem, choose the dedicated floor cleaner :) @@AskAngelaBrown

All your videos are gems of knowledge, I do have my absolute favorites though, ones I keep watching over and over. This is one of them. It's your straight and honest way of talking about things without finger snapping "ta da" hacks, and it's also a fact based/science based and logical. So appreciated in the age of the amateur. This may be harsh on others, but a professional with years of solid experience providing fact based, logical explanations is very much appreciated.

Just stumbled upon you this morning, June 23, 2023. I'm a homeowner with horrible OCD, and yet I've become terribly disorganized and am happy to have some cleaning suggestions. I LOVE that you think about cross contamination. MOULD NEEDS SOAP FIRST! It's important because otherwise the mould will release spores. The soap suds break the surface tension of water allowing the water to prevent the spores from being released into the air. Follow that with VINEGAR! Vinegar has very small molecules that penetrate deep and kill mould. Bleach has much larger molecules. Odoban I have no idea if it would work as well.

I can vouch for all the Odo Ban products, especially the BioStain one. I care for foster dogs and cared for my terminally ill brother who had weeping wounds that smelled awful. This product is a miracle for everything biological that needs removing. It gets rid of the stain and odor and the Odo Ban concentrate can be used in the laundry for sheets and reusable pads. I also use a steam mop in my bathrooms. For the best clean with the steamer, use distilled water. The minerals have been removed and makes tile streak free.
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
YES! The OdoBan BioStain is also great for house cleaners and athletes who have those awful underarm stains on their uniforms. Spraying it right before popping the clothes in the washing machine removes the sweat stains as well as the ring around the collar. 😍

I use a denture cleaning brush. It has bristles on both sides and one side has longer bristles that come to a point and it is awesome getting in the corners of everything! It is a harder bristle so be careful of scratching.

I use a spray bottle with household isopropyl alcohol to clean non-wood surfaces (counters, glass, floors, tile, etc). Cheap, effective, and sanitizes. Thoughts...?
@AskAngelaBrown2 жыл бұрын
Does it affect your breathing or eyes? Many house cleaners steer clear of it for ordinary cleaning because it is so strong. It is effective like you said, but can agitate those with sensitivities.
@teresamadison29282 жыл бұрын
No, I have not had a problem with breathing/sensitivity. However, I could see where someone with allergy, etc could.

I have a few questions related to cleaning a surgical place. Q1: What is best for wiping down wet stainless steel surgical scrub sinks that's LINT FREE? Once dry, spraying stainless steel cleaner on it and wiping with LINT FREE cloth? What would you recommend. Q2: Windows, what LINT FREE damp cloth should be used before polishing the glass? Thank you for all your cleaning tips!

Mary, Cleaning a surgery and house cleaning are very different. No one is performing surgery in a house so there is a different level of cleaning being done in a surgery or an operating room. Here are some tips on medical facility cleaning: enviro-master.com/commercial-cleaning-information/doctor-office-cleaning/

The drill you've selected is VERY old school. You might find that something like Ridgid's18V SubCompact Brushless Cordless 3/8 in. Right Angle Drill is a better choice, since it's much smaller and lighter, and the distance between your hand holding the drill and the front of the brush is much shorter with the drill's 3.5" head depth, making for far better control, and designed better for long term holding against a surface, but without sacrificing power or RPM's (with its variable, reversible speeds of up to 1900 RPM). There are other similar drills from other companies, but I like Ridgid because it offers a LIFETIME warranty for it's power tools and batteries, and has very reasonable prices (because their tools are not bomb proof like some other more expensive ones designed for tougher jobs)--although they try to limit that to non-commercial users. YMMV.

Can you use the steamer on baseboards, walls, gunky counters? Beyond washing the pads, how do you clean your steamer between houses?
@AskAngelaBrown2 жыл бұрын
Hi Caroline, here is a video we did for cleaning gunky counters with a steam mop - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKPFonSoqah2oqs but I don't recommend using a steamer on the baseboards. Most modern baseboards aren't a real wood, they are made of a pressed cardboard like material and moisture is the death of them.

SO when you use the barkeepers friend for stainless in the kitchen do you use light blue or the green microfiber?
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
If you are talking about cross contamination between cloths - I use the green cloths for everything in the kitchen to clean with, and blue if it is for polishing and may have polish on it (i.e. stainless steel polish). Is that what you are asking?

Hi Angela, Like so many others, I admire you and what you do for our industry. I have learned so much from you over the past few years, thank you. I am not sure if i missed something in the video, but for some reason I am not comprehending the putting cloths in the mesh bags. Do I seperate by color into individual bags? Then they can all be washed together? Thank you:) Tabatha
@AskAngelaBrown2 жыл бұрын
The mesh bags if tossed in with other laundry (i.e. terry cloths) keeps the microfiber cloths from picking up lint.
