A GUSSET! That’s what I need. I’m going to need a bigger gusset. I’ll report back with success, I hope. Thankfully I have spare shirts. This fabric frays so easy though, so I’ll have to zig zag stitch. I will report back if it’s a success...hopefully before midnight 😬 THANK YOU!!

If it frays really bad, I would zigzag the edges before you put it in your shirt so that it doesn’t unravel even more as you handle it.

@@AngelaWoolsey I followed your directions and I stopped just now and only have to sew the last gusset in and I’m done. Zig zag on the edges on EVERY raw edge beforeI tried to sew worked like a charm. I’m SO thankful for your step by step 😭 I would have been in SO much trouble at work 😬 I haven’t had to wear that darn thing for a year and a half!!! Merry Christmas!!! 🎄

Does adding a gusset this way widen the BACK of the shirt? I purchased a vintage shirt online and although it was theoretically my size, when I received it, it was too tight across the back, i.e., I can put it on, but my arms won't move forward! It's like I'm in a permanent military posture LOL.

I have a bunch of flannel shirts I ordered from Duluth trading company and they are all “standard” fit which is almost a slim fit but not all the way. They don’t fit that well and hug my belly to tight I thought about taking them to a professional to see about loosening them up, is this normal or an I going to get laughed at?

I can’t imagine anyone laughing about that. Its a common problem and it’s better to have your clothes tailored than to wear them too tight and then be uncomfortable. I might have to loosen mine as well! ☺️
