I love the perspective this video gives us however I'm not sure if the editing works. I love that you guys are trying new things, and the videography has definitely improved. I believe the editing, and the style in which it is done in should match the upbeat personality of Cory and the subject at matter. The content is great I just don't know how I feel about the overall vibe I'm getting. Just my perspective, thought I'd share. But good stuff

I agree completely! I love the upswing in video and editing quality. Most videos are upbeat and lively, and insert some humor. This video was very somber, it watched like clips for an in memoriam video. I think the music is well suited for watching a relaxing video of angels swim in a planted tank, but it detracts from the discussion in this clip. Regardless, looking forward to the next video.

wow i never knew german blue rams were considered hard to breed/raise fry. I should count myself lucky as I had rams regularly breeding and fry surviving for 2-3 years before I moved house and got rid of my tanks. I also had convicts,firemouths, jack Dempsey`s and some other dwarf cichlids breed for me.. man i need to get back into the hobby and start breeding again

Hi guys - I have to say, I'm not enjoying the cuts on the editing style. The music is sad and I miss Cory's energy. :( There was really not a lot of content or information here. I feel like we could have benefitted a lot more knowing what Cory and Dean were talking about, instead of having the sad music over top of a shot of Dean talking. I'd rather hear Dean, or Cory. :-/ Love what you guys do, most of the time, miss the energy. Less.. artsy? More energy!

Hey Cory, love your stuff but. With all this editing, transitions, and random slow-motion packed into a 6 to 7 minute video is not allowing as much educational info as there use it be. Some videos seem to be delayed(fish room update 😉, don’t even think you’ve shown all outdoor tubs you setup months ago). I Don’t feel like more cameras are going to help make things better, just going to take longer to edit. Guess I just miss the old days, longs videos(sitting back relaxing for 30 plus minutes), one tank at a time, and just your thoughts. Just my opinion, I’ll continue to watch as usual. Thanks.

You can only learn what's best by risking and experience. I think it's better to make the effort and fail (a bit) rather than continue doing the same 'getting tired' thing. I respect your willingness to keep trying to succeed. This video is just the beginning. You'll get it right soon and then people won't care so much about the "memorial" quality. Thanks for showing us more about Dean and his philosophy as a breeder. If I ever get around to buying rams or angels, I'll want them to be ones he produced. Unfortunately, my waters of the charts in hardness which causes my angel eggs, and most cichlids eggs, to calcify rendering them unhatchable... I did a test with distilled water and proved it by hatching about 10 eggs... FINALLY...! So, I have now ordered an RODI unit and will hopefully have more success...! I'm in Sarasota Florida... Home of the liquid limestone tap water, I'll try to remember to re-comment in a couple months to report any results... thanks again and keep the great content coming...!

Another mini movie -fabulous. But... Very professionally done video, but I think it could use a little rawness. It comes across as a trailer (which I guess it is, really), and I wonder if the full video will be on the other channel. Or whether this should have been on the other channel as a bonus. What has always made your videos great, and what I think is building your empire, is you sharing via your "guy-next-door" persona your immense knowledge of fish and the hobby. People trust you. If the videos become too slick, I think your trustworthiness could be affected. To become the next "That Pet Place" and still be known as that fish nerd north of Seattle is a difficult line to walk - but know this, I will be rooting for you. Just my .02

Any advice on negotiating yourself into a position of receiving money from shops as oppose to store credit. Store credit is great at times when you need things. Finding stores who will offer money is hard to come by in the UK.

Does it matter if the pairing angels are not of the same species, ie; koi & marble? How are hybrids viewed among angelfish? Should each species be kept in dedicated tanks to keep the lines pure? I've seen a lot of videos of paired angels that are not the same species not one person has said anything about it like hybrid cichlids. Just curious.

Everyone is sensitive to different sounds. I'd try an in tank filter like a fluval u series.

Yeah, and I'm one of them. I have TERRIBLE luck with every ram except the Bolivians. Not sure why. To me they're very very sensitive to any kind of change. I've probably bought a dozen of them, and none made it. So I tried the Bolivian Ram... never had a problem. Mine are almost 4". Figure that one out!!

I know this is old but I've just had an explosion of albino Corey's, kribensis and I just added angels to my krib tank and they laid about 400 eggs the second day(today) all over my anubius leaves and who the heck named them angels? What should I do. Take the wood and abubius away or see if they're gonna be good parents? The kribs did great but now I've got the krib pair and the angels sitting on a gagillion eggs at the same time in a 50 gal. I don't want a bloodbath!

I have a tank full of guppies, I remember trying to breed some guppies and put the fry in a breeding net. The angelfish was so smart he waited until the fry got close to the net and then he somehow sucked fry out, but the net holes were so tiny.... Angelfish are too smart for me, I rather like my dumb guppies.

So what I’ve learned from breeding and selling fish, granted I sell at retail value. Is that you can make money by setting your price you don’t have to follow what everyone else is doing if you have a pair of day discus and they are spawning for you really well what is written that we have to now sell those for top dollar. I can have a really good producing pair of discus and sell each fish for $15-$20-$30 and I’m selling more discus because other places are selling them for $60+ I don’t necessarily think oh I’m gonna breed guppies because they sell quick. Why do they sell quick? Because they are beautiful and they sell for $4-$6 each. If you had the choice to choose between a discus and a guppy granted you had space for both options and you see guppies for $6 which is like meh I’m gonna buy them because they are cheap well someone is gonna do the same thing if you’re selling discus at $20 each because everywhere else is selling them for $60+ if you had the opportunity to buy discus for cheap and learn how to care for them without breaking the bank I know a lot more people would buy them. Long story short I guess I’m trying to say you don’t have to follow everyone else set your price and you’ll see how much you make. You’ll in the long run end up making more from discus with a lower price tag because people can afford it and will buy them more frequently

This was more about Dean and Cory. Knowing I was going to have to edit the full tour of this, then you'll see the contrast and saturation. I needed to focus on their conversation for this. The bright white and blue tanks would've totally taken your eye instead of Dean himself. Sorry if you didn't like it.
