Also, they confirmed that the eyeshadow palette isn't even new, it's a palette that was previously released (I believe it was called the Solar Glow Times Nine palette) and I'm confused why they thought re-releasing it as The Sims palette was a good idea, instead of making a new palette that was actually related to to The Sims. It was just such a lazy collab, I don't know why they bothered 😅

Agreed, I’ve seen just about every influencer discuss this topic on multiple occurrences and nothing has changed. It is a shame, they have some beautiful products and they’re cruelty free but it is unsettling that they are just pandering to light skin tones

I'm actually so over MAC at this point. Their paint pot is the only thing that I'm using that I'm willing to repurchase because I haven't found a base that would work equally as good. However all the other items I already own I won't be repurchasing. They went from literally being the IT brand that everyone loved to a meh, money-grabby, messy company. Their launches are bland, their collections are boring and The Sims palette was the final straw for me. The audacity to repackage a crusty dusty palette from 2017 and add some inclusivity ideology to it to try to shill it to The Sims fans? No, absolutely no from me. If you want to be lazy, sure, go ahead, but don't try to clam that you care so much about catering to all the skin tones when in reality 70% of this palette won't even show up on someone with a deeper skin tone and this is just some old flop you have sitting in your warehouse and you try to resell it to a different audience. They didn't even change the names from that space/galaxy/whatever theme it initially was! This is such a wasted opportunity for a bomb collection and a palette that a lot of people would've potentially bought. God, you can tell I'm mad about this lol

You can use duraline to make things waterproof or create an eyeliner out of a normal eyeshadow :D It was a huge thing in Poland a few years ago when bright color liners were not so popular and much harder to get

Thank you for always speaking up on lack of color/shade range for all people. It’s vital that everyone feels represented, seen, & heard in every part of society. I have translucent skin, you can literally see my veins. I can’t find any foundation that matches. I’m lucky I don’t wear makeup much. To think of a young beauty girl or boy who feels ignored or forgotten, it’s heartbreaking. Everything deserves to feel free to express their personality, artistry, talents & culture are valued in the beauty space, or any space. Ps: my fav powder has been It cosmetics loose powder. It’s super finely milled & doesn’t cake up at all. They added a *pressed powder version. ‘Bye Bye Pores Pressed Translucent Setting Powder’*. Hello, I've read that China can test on animals once you're on the shelves WITHOUT telling the company. But I guess, it is not the company testing, but China. MAC is like that, too. The Sims mac collab is beyond disappointing.... The Tarte palette would've been fire like 3 years ago. They're kinda always late :/ .

yup! its animal testing done by the government, and while they are under no legal obligation to inform the companies, apparently they usually do

Also, we might see a light on animal testing issue in china sooner than expected because they made it a priority to ban animal testing after the pandemic initial breakout. The MaC sims palette is sketch! Solar Glow palette was on sale for like 1/2 off not too long ago during the holidays, it doesn’t have great reviews! Guarantee it didn’t sale well, so it’s now being used as a cash grab....which is just disgusting 🤢! Omg, hourglass has some huge balls ...what the hell! They know people have been asking for deeper skin tone suited shades and this is the response, it’s insulting! I love hourglass powders, but can’t deal with this blatant disregard for everyone.

I just wanna say that duraline is basically and can be replaced with plant glycerine, it’s used to freshen and moisten cake icing or frosting and you can get it super cheap in the baking section

I got the conspiracy pallete when it launched, but my eyes started burning every time I used it (probably something in the consistency I was sensitive to) and every time I saw it it reminded me of how bad of a person Shane and Jeffree are. So instead of throwing it away or feeling guilty I would suggest selling it or giving it away to someone who's willing to use 2nd hand eyeshadow :) (provided you don't have an eye infection obviously😅)

The MAC x Sims palette is just a massive missed opportunity. You really should try a real bristled fude brush. If the one is too expensive from Beautylish, try Rephr or Hakuhodo. No brushes can compare to them! Sigma, Zoeva, etc... is so scratchy compared to these brushes!

Honestly, as a POC of desi background with a fairly deep skin tone, I don’t get the hate on hourglass. Maybe some of their highlighting powders don’t work for some, but that doesn’t mean their are not wholly inclusive. Correct me if I’m wrong, but their foundation shade and lines are quite diverse, their eyeshadows and other complexion products can be used by a wide variety of individuals. Like come on, they aren’t physicians formula bad. I bought the ghost edit palette, I can’t use all the shades, but I can use some in creative ways. I buy from them because they are good products. I’m by no means cancelling them.

I like that their shaderange is so inclusive, but doesn‘t inclusivity also mean that things should be accessible to everyone? As an european it sometimes annoys me how the beauty community/brands are so centered around the US. There are so many things I‘d love to buy but can‘t. When the makeup by mario brand was released, it wasn‘t that hyped up, but they shipped internationally from the first second on and you can pay taxes right at check-out and the shipping is quite affordable.
