I've struggled with mental illness my entire life. I have bipolar disorder, chronic anxiety, and have struggled with an eating disorder. I need to raise awareness for mental health. The only person in this world that has made me not feel so alone and understood my pain is Angelina Jolie. I had a great childhood and I have a great support system from my family, my friends, and my therapist. But, Angelina is the only person that I actually relate to. When I was young, I was made fun of from others for being extremely thin, wearing glasses and having braces. I tried to do modeling and acting but I was turned down for being short and thin, and also having anxiety issues. Most of my teens, I self harmed. It wasn't until I became a Christian and got treatment for mental illness that I actually found hope. I also found hope in the movie Girl, Interrupted as well. I felt completely alone and Angelina Jolie definitely made me feel not so alone, especially when I was admitted to a mental hospital. She gives millions to charities, is a great mom, is a humanitarian, and is a brilliant actress. I recently met people from Cambodia who have been involved in wars, starvation, and the death of their families. I want to start going to refugee camps and help her help people who have nothing. Ever since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to become involved in humanitarian work with her and it sounds crazy and unrealistic, but please help me. 😊💕
